They're a labour of love, but I wouldn't be without my knowledge organisers (and nor would my S1-S3s!). They make me think about what pupils really *need* to know, and the pictures and colour-coding are proving especially helpful for less-confident learners.

It's by no means finished or completely thrashed out but year 7 are turning into town planners tomorrow with a new take on the 𝑞𝑢𝑒́ ℎ𝑎𝑦 𝑒𝑛 𝑡𝑢 𝑝𝑢𝑒𝑏𝑙𝑜 series of lessons. They'll have a budget and various demographics to appease (para los mayores/niños hay etc).

Setting some goals for 2025. Seems I’m not done with uni yet… Can’t tell if this is a great idea, or if I’ve lost the remaining sanity I had. Maybe both 🫠

@misterjgarcia We get sooooo many every day! In my previous school, it was rare to get more than two or three whole staff emails. On my first day in my current school, I had 103 in one day 😅

This is just school emails today. When did we lose the plot with it? Most of them are staff to staff... in the same building. When I started in 2005 there were no school email accounts and took paper registers every lesson.

@MrDLester I think already knowing French helped as there are quite a few similarities. I’ve started learning Italian this year as we teach it as an option, and having Spanish has helped with that too!

Not bad for picking up Spanish this time last year and now teaching it to Y11 🤪😅

@adamboxer1 And time is a huge factor! I’ve been asked to speak in the House of Lords on teacher recruitment. As an ECT, I don’t think you can be more representative of the field. Hoping SLT will approve my cover! If the big boys meet when real teachers are teaching, we don’t stand a chance.

Today a kid gave me an orange at the end of the lesson. No explainable reason. Nice kid. Orange wasn’t destroyed/poisoned, etc. What’s going on? Has this become a thing? I thought it was apples and this only happens in movies. #edutwitter

Our long-awaiting trip to Berlin is only a few days away and the Reisefieber is strong! This morning I realised, after telling students 6 months ago to make sure they had a warm coat, that I didn't have anything suitable myself! An emergency shopping trip was needed!
