Absolutely, new Glenn is awesome… I like space tech, Vast, stoke, Sierra… anything innovative is awesome. I think it’s the opposite, people who hate Elon so much they can’t admit that starship is incredible. People like Elon because though he’s too optimistic he in general does deliver and what he wants to do and he is always aiming quite high!

I know @SpaceX and @elonmusk followers will not be honest: If it were @NASA , @ulalaunch, @blueorigin developing Starship, would you still follow it? Most of you would say it is a piece of junk or what are we doing if it were anyone else but SpaceX/Musk developing it.

@MJMDenny @AJamesMcCarthy I know! My hope is that Starship launches soon become "boring." Sounds incredible, but it happened with the Falcon 9.

Most people don't realize just how big SpaceX will be, particularly now they've absorbed xAI. This isn't just a transportation company folks, it's the East India Company 2.0 For context, at its height the British East India Company controlled 25% of global GDP, and 50% of global trade. In modern dollars, it was worth ~$5 trillion USD. The Dutch East India Company was worth even more at it's peak, ~$10 trillion USD.

Ukraine is so militarily strong at this point that Putin is contemplating attacking NATO instead because it's a softer target.

@SpaceKoala I know people don’t like it, but I like it :/ middle class people don’t do much cool stuff honestly (me being one of them) I’m glad there are people who can afford to do crazy stuff it makes my life better… and arguably depending on the project humanities as well.

We're returning to an age of rich bored guys actually getting to spend their money to claim the glory of being the first to explore something.

@UziCryptoo Exactly property taxes are another type of theft… you are well on your way. We should pay for the services we want and use not be forced to support other people’s pet projects and desires.

You can't tax rich people on unrealized gains from stocks because "it's not real money until it's sold." So explain to me why my property taxes keep going up based on the unrealized value of my house? I didn't sell it. I didn't cash out. I didn't make a profit. But somehow I'm paying taxes on paper gains every single year. Interesting how "unrealized gains" only become a problem when wealthy folks are involved.

Question for Musk: You tell us not to worry about the jobs that’ll be wiped out by AI & robotics because the government will provide everyone with “universal high income.” Really? How will that be paid for when you can’t even support a 5% tax on your $817 billion in wealth?

@Noahpinion Maybe you don’t talk to regular people, but the water thing among other things is an actual “issue” for people… not well informed people but that’s the average person.

@TrustlessState @AskVenice Can’t you consider that $1 a day a dividend if you used it, so it has a 20% dividend rate? I own some vvv but not diem but that would be my thinking.

Is $DIEM not wildly overpriced? 1 $DIEM = $1/day of free inference from @AskVenice 1 DIEM is $1,700, and you'll get your worth of inference after 4.65 years, if you use Venice every day. Seems just a lil bit high?

@peterrhague When we leave, these are going to be the stories told about the fools who left and presumably died out in the hell storm beyond safe Mother Earth… as we watch and study the cave dwellers devolve back into monkeys.

The year is 100,000 AD I survived until longevity escape velocity, and traveled the galaxy until I found an unused star, whereby my autonomous robots set up a Dyson sphere to power my own personal computations. I use it to adjust the axes on a pyplot.

Every. Person. On. Earth. Let that sink in. All 8 billion humans could have a better quality of life in every aspect if we taxed the ultra-wealthy the same way working people are taxed. Equality in taxation. Every. Person. On. Earth.

Cause we don’t have funny issues, we were forged in the fires of the independent 80’s and 90’s… we knew victory over communism, the victory of Freedom in the world, the destruction of racism… Honestly we should be the messed up ones we once had perfection and now live in this world ;) ha ha

This is a good first half I think the other half of how the money is used is harder and more important. But this seems like a good way of raising revenue at the root… kind of like a carbon tax at the producer level would be the most efficient way to regulate carbon emissions but alas no one trusts the government to do the right thing with the funds and so we are always suboptimal.

We should federally tax Tokens at the Provider level. Not a lot. Less than 50c per million tokens. It will accomplish 4 things (at least ) 1. It will push the big AI players to optimize tokenization, caching , routing and localization Which will 2. Reduce energy usage. Saving them in energy costs more than what they paid in tax and reducing strain created by the growth in energy consumption Which will 3. Generate maybe 10 billion dollars a year to start, but over the next ten years could grow 30x to 100x Which will 4. Create a source of funding to pay down the federal debt or deploy, in response to the things AI brings that we don’t expect or don’t like At some point the models will pass it on to customers. Of course. That’s ok. Customers will have the ability to choose between providers. Or to do everything using open source models locally. Thoughts ?
