When you have Wes Durham responding to your post about a quote I think your source and quote are off. Many coaches used the UNC job opening as a way to get more money from their current employers. UNC made a lot of coaches rich and got a GM and an AD removed as being the boss of a coach.

@BeauStack @unc_zone wtf are you talking about. He’s 54, younger than Hubert, only 3 yrs older than Lloyd, younger than Donovan, only been out of coaching for less than 2 yrs, was fired when his team was 17 games above .500, it wasn’t his ability. He’s a NY guy and he’s a players coach.

@unc_zone Bill, now this guy. Who is next? Are they going to drive to Atlanta and try to get Bobby Cox to come back and coach baseball. Bubba and his new replacement are incompetent. Hard to believe they pay major money for these types of decisions

Michael Malone's coaching philosophy is based on discipline, defense and player development. His offensive strategy emphasizes ball movement, player movement, and spacing to create efficient scoring opportunities. He avoids isolation plays, ensuring all players are threats on the court. Let’s give him a chance. #GoHeels

The offensive scheme is called motion weak. He runs that type of offense and keeps the ball and players moving. It is different than motion strong but this is more of a motion style offense that is designed to speed up the game. It does not rely on the 3 so much but does open up for the players to run and hit a sharp shooter on one of the options.

I want to thank my teammates, coaches, staff professors, and fans for the non stop support throughout my time in Chapel Hill. Kenny Smith was on the coach search committee and he knew about Mike. Tyler heard from Kenny and Kenny was not letting it slip to far into IC or OM3 board. Kenny kept that hush hush. He knew who he wanted and IMO this is Kenny’s decision. I am listening and maybe he knows something we fans don’t.
