The hyperbole and hysteria over asking employees for 5min of their time to provide a snapshot of their week has now entered the realm of farcical. In fact, the reaction of federal employees has been very revealing and speaks volumes to the American people who routinely do this on their jobs.

M*sk's demand for federal employees to explain their achievements is actually the definition of bullshit work. In bureaucracies, the pencil-pushers who thrive are actually the ones who are best at crafting bullshit weekly accomplishment narratives.

If any of the hundreds of employees who work for me refused to send a very short email with 5 bullet points and copying their manager, with 48hrs notice (!!) no less, they would no longer be employed. This is not controversial. The unhinged reaction is proof the culture of the federal government workforce is rotten and needs dramatic transformation, not incremental change.

I have never bought a meme coin but this is how I assume it works. Tell me if I am wrong anywhere in retard terms… - I create 1000 digital beanie babies - I keep 700 dbbs - Another 150 gets sold during pre-sales, preferential groups, or given to friends - 150 is left for the public - It goes live and there are insiders who buy as fast as possible and they sell less than they buy and try to continue that cycle to pump the price up - I only sell a little a little at a time to keep the price from falling. While the public is buying at higher and higher prices. So I did nothing and made 70% of nothing. Also my friends made some money. The public is putting in 99% of the money for 15% of the digital beanie babies and only a small percentage make anything. Congrats to me?

@liber_tao @notlouisck 😂 Also, eggs have been removed from the equation. Also, we get more nutrition from cooked eggs, so if you really are doing the raw eggs it's counterproductive.

@notlouisck Online is all just non sense. I just post things as a passing thought. It's not a firm belief. I live in a small town with a church on every corner. The Christian kids are the only healthy people around. They do practice what they preach. They just don't make a fuss about it.

It seems like most conservatives like to call themselves "Christians" that believe in the Bible. 25% of the new testament was written by St. Paul, who murdered Christians and was forgiven. Jesus had dinner with whores and thieves. In the old testament, David was destined and chosen to be King of Israel by God, despite knowing David would commit adultery and have a child out of wedlock. The bible teaches to love other, regardless of their sins and forgive each other. Why do you think we don't do that?

@notlouisck @cryptodrew1 When youre in a war, I'm not sure man is capable of parsing it in this way. If you believe there is evil, or evil behavior, how do you drive that out? Loving compliance while Our flawed brother shuttles us into the gas chamber? Another paradox to confront I spose 💭

🥚Is it at all suspicious that one of the simplest, healthiest, nutrient dense sources of nutrition has become essentially out of reach $ for most of us? What will you do when they also begin to take away the source for small producers/homesteaders? @maxlugavere @ItsJustinRhodes

These fucks can never explain how I became immunocompromised after Covid while being 100% unvaccinated. Both sides of this argument are EXTRAORDINARILY well-funded, but both sides ignore THE VIRUS.

THERE IS A REASON THE ENTIRE WORLD WAS PROGRAMMED TO FOCUS EXCLUSIVELY ON COVID VACCINES, INSTEAD OF THE VIRUS. There is a reason people were programmed to believe they could simply get vaccines & then check out—even though it was never, ever true. Covid is causing immunodeficiency, & we have known since 2020, but no one wanted to hear it. “You Do You” public health was a scam designed SPECIFICALLY to maintain those RECORD profits & those RECORD prices while everyone gets sicker & sicker & sicker, before dying prematurely in public.
Olenka Sayko@coco_chatel

It’s fucking COVID taking a sledgehammer to everyone’s immune systems for the past few years which basically sets you up for getting more sick more often and more intensely from viruses you would have shrugged off before your brushes with COVID.

@mtaibbi Does speech even matter when all the wealth has been slurped and used to build vast estates and bunkers underground and to employ a guard to keep it secure from the 99%? Does speech matter when you're reasoning with an algorithm/bot to reverse junk charges?

Obviously any percentage is meaningful. I’m just trying to point out how big the Euro speech bureaucracy is even without us. We don’t have an analog to it in the US.

@mtaibbi What is the percentage threshold at which free speech suppression is to be considered "meaningful"?

@bindureddy No one gives a fuck. The little bit of automation and algorithmic control has checkmated us all. Who would ever put money into the stock market again? Who (on fringes of qualifying for a loan or ins. plan) will ever get one? We're in the siphoning off the last bit of wealth phase

Had a lot of fun hosting my first X space. Here are some thoughts that are still resonating from the conversations: Human purpose, money, and work? Definitely there are lots of people worried about the future of jobs and money - how will the economy work if/when AI and robots come for all our jobs? The short answer is that there is not one silver bullet solution, but rather a number of pivots will happen. Maybe some form of UBI, but also tokenomics, deflation, and so on. It's a whole new paradigm. Money is not going anywhere though - it's too useful of an invention. Medium of exchange, unit of account, and storehold of value. On the purpose front, some people are worried about losing meaning and purpose in life. There are two sides to this: one; life was always "meaningless" according to nihilism. AI is just holding a big mirror up to humanity. It was never not true though. However, as far as finding meaning and purpose in life, from a first principles perspective, it's actually INSANELY easy to make humans happy. You need a tribe, time in nature, some hobbies, good food, good sleep, and some adventures. One thing that came out is that most people have NEVER lived in an optimal human habitat. You know those stories about the tiger that was raised in captivity and has never known the jungle or the hunt, but then when they experience it, they light up? Yeah, that's all of us. We were all born in captivity and have never lived in an optimal human habitat. We're all sick and we don't even know it. Beyond that, we talked a little bit about education and AI safety. I always double down on communication skills - by far the most valuable skill I have (look at my platform). But even before YouTube and X, communication was my most valuable skill, particularly in technology. Tech bois are notoriously bad at communication, and so the bar is exceptionally low. You can dominate your career simply by being good at listening, speaking, and writing when added to the hard skills. On the AI safety side, I'm still hearing some people worried about issues like instrumental convergence, but I gotta say: there's zero evidence that AI is intrinsically malicious or inexorably incorrigible. Most of what the Doomers promised has failed to materialize. As time goes by, we have more and more evidence that AI is highly steerable and, while there are some glitches, 99.9% of the time it is benevolent, benign, and compliant. That trend is only getting strong with time, too. I'll make sure to schedule and record my future spaces too.
