To sum up the issues even if Hormuz opens this month:
- Crews won't sail back in
- Charterers don't want the risk
- Insurers won't cover
- Ships need maintenance (barnacles, parts, oil changes, etc.)

@MothershipSG Terrible news. I have witnessed some truly awful driving in Singapore by commercial vehicles - trucks and vans in particular. A lot of cyclists do not know how to ride defensively. Or, if they do, they're not riding defensively enough to compensate for the incompetent drivers.

Went to a Michelin omakase in Japan. Chefs insisted we sit in the middle seats. We later found out why: every other guest was a young, rich, bored Chinese national barely looking up from a smartphone.
The chefs saw American names and knew we'd actually appreciate and interact.

Was in Paris a couple months ago for wife’s 40th. We splurged and did a handful of Michelin stars and similar and kept noticing that it was mainly Americans, along with a smattering of other foreigners, eating at them.

Singapore is one of the craziest places I've ever visited.
Landed at midnight and the roads were filled with pickups packed like clown cars with the working class on their LONG daily commute through customs into Malaysia.
It cost $100,000 to bid on the right to own a car (not the actual car itself).
Happy hour beer price downtown was a single Heineken bottle for $15.
