@cmaguire2008 @TalkinYanks I thought he was cooked after those first 2 whiffs but I was glad to be proven wrong
English

@RobBballHistory @joeg414 @TalkinYanks The 9 pitch walk was a good display of how well he’s seeing pitches
English

@joeg414 @TalkinYanks Yea I feel like all his production is on the HR. He has t really had any base hits to drive in runs. It is a good sign that he’s walking bc the first 20 games, he only had around 8-10 Walks.
English

@BillOC714 @YankeeSource Fingers crossed he breaks out at some point of his career with the Yankees
English

@ManNguyen2000 @YankeeSource He could still be a Dansby Swanson type (weaker glove though). Dansby didn’t break out offensively until he was 26
English

@BillOC714 @YankeeSource Yeah that’s fair. I’m still optimistic about Volpe (even though I shouldn’t)
English

@ManNguyen2000 @YankeeSource There’s a correlation for sure, I’m just not convinced it’s causation. It’s worth a try, but I’m not even convinced they will try it.
English

@BillOC714 @YankeeSource I don’t think it’s coincidental. I think he gets tired from wear and tear of playing one of harder positions and his approach changes and he flails. Minus his rookies year he’s gotten off to hot starts and cooled off. 2024 post season he was good as well

English

@ManNguyen2000 @YankeeSource Keep wondering, they will probably play him everyday as soon as they call him up. Maybe he’ll get a few days off to get Caballero playing time, but I think it’s been more coincidental that he’s played better after rest than real
He’s just not a good hitter.
English

@ColleenNYYfan The underlying data isn’t good but honestly just keep playing him until he’s cold
English

@BillOC714 @YankeeSource I’m curious how Volpe would play if he got a consistent amount of days off instead of playing every day. If he can sustain his approach across a season instead of the start/allstar break he could be so good.
English

@YankeeSource It’s amazing how quickly people forget how bad Volpe has been for the better part of 3 years. His cold streaks are worst player in baseball bad. And his hot streaks are too few and far between
English

@DamnHours @TJStats He’s at 1 DRS on fangraphs. He might’ve been negative prior to robbing 3 homers
English

@TJStats This makes no sense, Adell robbed 3 homers in a game...how is he not on here?
English

@BillOC714 @davidrifkin Not arguing that they were better off with Rizzo but acknowledging he definitely was bringing great value to the team pre-concussion.
English

@ManNguyen2000 @davidrifkin Even without the concussion there’s no reality where it was a better move to sign Rizzo rather than trading for Olson or aggressively outbidding to lure Freeman (I know his preference was LA or ATL)
Rizzo was always the 2nd tier option and time would’ve proven that out
English

I’m good with our choice. Love Yankee Belli

New York Yankees Stats@nyyankeesstats
Cody Bellinger is the first Yankee with a pinch-hit go-ahead hit while trailing at Fenway Park since Elston Howard on April 23, 1967
English

@BillOC714 @davidrifkin Rizzo was having a good season until that concussion and then he was never the same :(
English

@davidrifkin Gotta say I was not onboard with the all-in on Bellinger plan but compared with every other major free agent hitter it’s looking like a good plan.
It’s early though, Rizzo over Freeman and an Olson trade also looked like a savvy move at this point too
English

@UneasyPerk @swbrailriders It’s might be because they’ve been facing a lot of lefties recently (played this entire series and he’s played 15/25 games)
English

@UneasyPerk @swbrailriders Like why is Grichuk getting ABs and playing almost every game while Dominguez rots in the minors
English

@DJKCD @TalkinYanks I think they ended up changing it to an error
English

@TalkinYanks Why are the scorekeepers so afraid to hand out errors to outfielders?
English

@mlb_simulator Oh absolutely gifted this game. Thank you Peraza and Romano

@AyeBrianTV @BronxBmbrz Nah volpe was actually good the postseason. McMahon has been mcdogshit at the plate
English

@BronxBmbrz The same when Volpe hit that grandslam against the dodgers. That one moment, that’s all. A one hit wonder.
