@UTDKara Truth is we are not at the level of the top european teams.. How many teams are at PSG or Bayerns level ?
But consistently challenging for the PL or CL places and getting a young squad used to playing in the CL is a huge step forward.

@terrychristian @HopiumFC Yep🤣, Can’t lie though, I’d love to see Amorim’s powerpoint presentation how he blagged this job.
English

@ManUtdWay99 @HopiumFC Tthey love Amorim's little beard and chinos
English

Van Gaal didn't work because Moyes didn't work then Jose awful, Ten Hag predictable and Amorim hopeless - odd this idea that Ole was in any way inferior to these over rated joyless muppets
Hopium FC@HopiumFC
@FootballJOE I’ll save you a click: Carrick won’t work because Ole didn’t work. Trust me bro.
English

@NoushardMUFC The league position don’t lie…
To be fair I’m happy to judge Amorim on his next job. He is young enough to learn and adapt.

Ruben Amorim could have gotten us Champions League football if he stayed.
The foundation Carrick is thriving on? That’s Amorim’s work… the players he brought in, the basics he drilled, the partnerships and instincts he built. Even now, you can see traces of it… even if some of it is starting to fade in players like Mbeumo and Amad.
And let’s not forget — Amorim is a big reason Bruno Fernandes is still at Manchester United. Bruno was close to leaving, but Amorim pulled him back in because he believed in his project.
Say what you want, but the roots of this progress didn’t just appear overnight.

@HopiumFC @terrychristian If we were talking about a Michael Carrickas from Europe or South America there would be way less negativity.
English

@terrychristian Exactly. That article had nothing of substance except to say that United are idiots if they hand Carrick the role full-time because Ole “didn’t work”.
English

@Aaron_Magook If what we hear is true and Mainoo has signed along with Maquire taking a pay cut to stay I think Carricks got the job. Nagelsmann doesn’t guarantee success, would probably want allot more money to rebuild.Carrick knows the club and will give youth a chance along with new signings
English

Amorim loyalists are extremely anti Michael Carrick and admirers of Julian Nagelsmann not based on football. They have 2 main reasons:
1. They hate Carrick because he came in and exposed the tactical failure of Amorim after he had convinced people that the team is not good enough to consistently win matches.
I remember when Carrick took charge and his first two games were against Manchester City and Arsenal. These people were excited hoping that Carrick would lose his first two games so they could say "Amorim was not the problem." When that did not happen, the demons turned against Carrick and they became proper haters
2. They hate the fact that Carrick came in and started using a back four while also making Kobbie Mainoo a regular starter in the team.
So now they want Nagelsmann while hoping that he comes in and benches or outright asks for Mainoo to be sold. That is the agenda they are pushing.
These are the demons we are dealing with at Manchester United right now. How can a manager who nearly relegated the club have such a huge fan base?

@UtdForever7 @ManUtd @premierleague The ABC ( Anyone But Carrick ) narrative is dissapointing .. even more so from our club legends @GNev2 Roy Keane & Paul Scholes.
English

🚨🗣️ Gary Neville on Michael Carrick and the permanent Manchester United job:
“I just thought the other day, it would be so classy and Michael-like if he said, ‘guys, I’ve done what I came in to do, I’ve done this job, I’ve got you into the Champions League, I’ve re-stabilised the club, settled the place down — but now go and put someone [else] in.’” #MUFC [@WeAreTheOverlap]

English

@AliceTalksFooty Yup.. There should be an internal investigation of our scouting and recruitment over the past 10 years. Some of the deals done were ridiculous.
English

@LBC Sad fact is with this charlatan joker in charge of the opposition it is just paving the way for Nigel Farage to get into power.
English

@terrychristian Absolutely.. really disrespectful, You would think he put us 15th in the league.
English

This whole Ole narrative is twisted. His was the best most exciting and watchable Man United team playing football since Sir Alex. Incredibly unfortunate not to win at least one trophy.

🚨🚨🌕| NEW: There are two schools of thought among the Manchester United hierarchy about the manager succession plan: The first is that Michael Carrick gets the job because he deserves the chance, it goes wrong next season and the United hierarchy are derided for following the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer model. The other is that Carrick is replaced by a more experienced manager, who struggles to adapt and then the hierarchy are accused of trying to fix something that was not broken. [@sistoney67]
English

@AtiteSnr @FabrizioRomano Amorim football was inflexible and predictable.
A good coach/manager gets the best out of his squad. Hes young enough to learn but he was way too stuborn for his own good.
English

Amorim's football was the most exciting footballing episode we have ever had in Manchester United since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. When did we last play an Arsenal and lost and yet left the match feeling good about ourselves? Or City?
Amorim was never the problem. When you see confessions like this, it just tells you what players really felt. When you think someone is the one making you perform poorly, you fail to look into your own deficiencies.
Yes, Amorim's system meant defense was more often than not less covered, but it would not have had to be like that had the WBs been more efficient.
Amorim's system wasn't for lazy and lethargic players. One had to be extremely athletic to make it work. Hence why in his tenure, players seemed fitter and suffered less injuries. Esp. Luke Shaw.

@utdshows A 🤬 men… This ABC ( Anyone but Carrick) narrative is pure nonesense.
English

🚨🎙️ Wayne Rooney on Manchester United trusting Michael Carrick:
🗣️ “I’m seeing people talk about new managers everywhere.
Liam Rosenior — 0 wins in 7 games, no goals.
Alvaro Arbeloa — one win in six. Their new manager bounce is already gone.
But Michael Carrick wins 9 games in 12 and somehow some Manchester United fans are still asking for another manager. I don’t understand that mentality.
United keep complaining about instability, yet when someone comes in and actually wins games, you still want to change again. That’s how you stay in a rebuild forever.
If Carrick had a foreign name or arrived with hype, people would be calling him the long-term solution already. Instead, he’s being doubted while doing a better job than most.
For me, the board should stop overthinking it. He’s winning, he’s steadying the club, and right now he deserves trust — not another reset.”

Yeah sure - Ruben Amorim is off to Newcastle
