So many Italians moved from Kentucky + West Virginia to Marseilles (Lasalle County) looking for mining work that at one point it was called Martucky. Thats why there’s a big fried chicken culture down there and it’s commonly served with “Ravs” which is local slang for tortellini.

Most people don't think of Illinois as a major coal state. But Southern Illinois has massive coal deposits and a long history w coal. The toxic legacy of coal mining is visible. This is the Will Scarlet coal mine site, sometimes also known as "Demon Waters," or "The Red Sea."

Would still guess plenty of cable TV poker. Nightly show promotes extended coverage, leading to marquee live ME. They need cable users to convert.

In the interim, ESPN will air ‘specially curated ‘prime-time’ episodes.

BREAKING: The World Series of Poker is returning to ESPN. The two sides have agreed on a multi-year deal to bring WSOP back to ESPN's platforms this summer. ESPN first broadcast the Main Event in 1987 and has been involved in some capacity in every decade since.

I have no access to PokerGO numbers, but I’ll speculate it’s nowhere close to 2.1m subscribers. I agree you’ll likely need some sort of ESPN streaming package to watch most of Days 1-8 of the Main Event.
