I just had to tell my wife I made a $575k mistake Last year we sold our home health & hospice company; which, triggered an audit (very common) We got the results back this week and they were not good The initial determination is that we owe Medicare $575k 😳 The way they call it an “overpayment” makes it sound like a little “whoopsie!” That’s not how it feels There will be several rounds of appeals and ultimately, an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) will determine our fate Best case, we will get this knocked down to low six figures I’ve been through this a number of times but never as the former owner so this will be interesting Entrepreneurship is fun
