I am deeply proud and honoured to start my tenure as Director-General/Executive Director of the UN Office at Vienna/@UNODC.
I look forward to leading the @UN’s work in addressing the challenges of drugs, organized crime, corruption and terrorism, for a safer and more just world.
A warm welcome to Monica Juma from #Kenya, the new Director-General of #UNVienna and Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime @UNODC, on her first day in the office today.

@Honcalebamisi Politicians like @JohnMbadiN should concentrate on their agendas and stop focusing on character assassination of those who do not support their ideas and alliances.
Kuna kitu imeniuma tangu juzi wacha niseme initoke.
Where does CS John mbadi get the audacity to abuse and attack the sister to Raila Odinga ,Ruth Odinga?, a man who helped him win political seats and made him minister in Ruto government ?
Wonders will never cease!
Baba continue resting in peace. You were surrounded by vultures .
Kenya needs a renaissance!
Is government really working as Whole-of-government in making decisions on fuel increase. Within a few hours citizens are having contradictory information @KENYAPARLIAMENT@KenyaGovernors
Easter reminds us to have hope that even in the hardest of times, triumph can arise.
Over the years, I’ve often spent Easter mornings with my family. Surrounded especially by the little ones who remind me to find joy in the simplest of things. Their joy is a gentle reminder to slow down and be present in the moment.
I have needed that reminder across many difficult seasons, from raising my children as a single mother, to standing my ground in situations I had a lot to lose.
Kenya is in a hard season, and the road has been long and the weight has been heavy.
But in the same breath, I know we Kenyans are resilient and we’ll keep showing up. We’ve done it before and we will keep doing it.
Happy Easter, Kenya. On the other side of the suffering we bear, hope is resurrecting.
#BlessedEaster
@themayor_ke Politics of insults will not take Kenya anywhere and yet the numbers of politicians using insults to campaign are increasing - where is @NCIC_Kenya?
All that mobilisation against Edwin Sifuna yesterday in Samburu County just to protect a governor who is stealing from them is crazy. I’m always surprised how poor people end up defending their own oppressors.
From Ukambani et al., truly, Punda Amechoka. No noise can sway reality & Udakustans can only adjust the sails for now, but not change the wind’s direction. Leave alone the National Assembly Speaker @HonWetangula cheering the noisemakers. The Senate one would have done, the same.
@WilliamsRuto lead the government to address the issue of in-time payment for services offered to the government of Kenya, including in counties. People have died, cried, gotten depressed and it seems nobody is listening @KENYAPARLIAMENT@KenyaGovernors
@cbs_ke God bless @mikesonko for being for the people. It is one thing to govern and another to be responsive to community needs. The two are not necessarily the same.
... Mike Sonko is a man of the people...
Selfless....
What leaves your hand is not gone. Allah returns it as reward, barakah, protection, or opened provision. The miser thinks he is preserving his wealth by not giving it away. No! He is only preserving his fear of poverty. @MikeSonko
