FLEX NODE
This is like an atom of network. It's the basic component that creates the overall optimum network. And what is interesting is that they come in many form cover whether it's in term of resources they can contribute to the network, or service, and they could support propagation of data and many more.
There are many versalities in flex nodes, as it can be connected to many chains. For example flex node can be connected to Ethereum network, IP network, solana and other chains for data propagation.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN FLEX NODE
Different categories of people that can participate in flex node operation:
1. It could be sophisticated node operators who want to run a flat note.
2. It's could also be anyone at home interested in participating in flex node with any device such as laptops or even smartphone. No sophisticated device is required in running a flex node!
THE NEBULA CONCEPT OF FLEX NODE
From the word nebula, flex node is worldwide which means it can be run in anywhere around the world completely decentralized, no single point of failure. Everyone can contribute and provide service to the end users. Flex node is sort of unique as no two flex note are alike. If someone spin a flex node in a region where there is a low supply, the equation that they are going to get to contribute from this from the perspective of the local peers are going to be very valuable. So everyone has the chance to meaningfully contribute to the network.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FLEX NODE AND VALIDATOR.
VALIDATOR
1. Validator is a big investment that requires capital and sophisticated devices to operate.
2. A lot of uptime is needed to run a validator which can really be difficult.
3. A user can be penalized if their validator went offline.
FLEX NODE
1. Flex node can be run on any device, as no special or sophisticated device is needed to operate a flex node
2. No penalties of a flex node is offline
3. Cheaper to run
4. Flexibility:- Easy to operate, no special knowledge required.
Flex node is an important aspect of @get_optimum.
