The Massachusetts State Police were well aware of the severity of Brian Tully’s actions. Following the internal investigation tied to the Michael Proctor matter, MSP demoted Tully and removed him entirely from investigative services, reassigning him to Field Services. That placement confirms my earlier reporting that he had been moved to highway patrol. Tully spent nearly a decade in the Norfolk County DA’s homicide unit and led it for three years before being reassigned. That kind of move is not routine. It reflects that he was no longer considered fit for a supervisory role, and more importantly, no longer trusted within a unit responsible for handling murder investigations. Now, with his retirement filed just ✨️one day✨️ after a federal filing alleged that he and his team withheld evidence from the medical examiner in the Sandra Birchmore case, the timing speaks for itself. Tully was leading that unit at the time and is referenced throughout the 1,865 internal emails tied to the investigation. If federal authorities are asserting that evidence was deliberately withheld, that raises serious questions about potential accountability for those involved within the DA’s office. And Brian Tully’s name is not on the periphery of that conversation. It is central to it. Retirement will not be a shield for responsibility. And due to these new findings, I believe it is only a matter of time before we hear of legitimate RICO charges against District Attorney Michael Morrissey and his boys.

@breton4_nik @BoozeyBeauty He’s actually at 20 I believe. MA State Police pensions aren’t based on final rank. It’s the highest 3 consecutive years of pay. If Tully was demoted last yr 2 of those years may still be at his higher rank. So it’s a blended average, not a full drop. At 20 yrs, ~50% of that avg.

NAPD seems to be imploding. It’s about time for scrutiny on leadership - or lack thereof. Apparently the Officer-Involved-Shooting Policy at the time of Kelsey’s incident was for the Chief to show up, play grab-ass with “the shooter”, shaking hands and hanging out in the driveway, all while Kelsey is literally fighting for her life in an ambulance 20 feet away. Better yet, why not immediately RE-ARM “the shooter” with your very own Chief gun before any investigation has commenced into why “the shooter” shot his own colleague. Nothing to see here... Sounds like it’s time to go, Chief Gray. Maybe they can replace him with Lt. Daley- the architect of the entire afternoon. He can’t keep control of a scene, but maybe he can control a whole department. Or how about Lt. Whitaker- Justin’s legal advisor from NAPD. Or Sgt. Gherke- the expert on possession, title and ownership of real estate. The options are endless.
