@friedman_cheryl @BatchaTheGreat @Mellecon @TheCinesthetic I think it's tempting to want the lore of saying they filmed the ending almost immediately and that blinded them to how it was no longer the right ending, or at a minimum, a poor execution of the plan.

@EugeneEugene87 @Mellecon @TheCinesthetic Yes, I get that, and it doesn't change that eventually it became less desirable and the show didn't pivot. Binging also changes the sense of poor pacing that also created an issue.

@giftatappedfish @BatchaTheGreat @Mellecon @TheCinesthetic Yep, they had to give us continual reasons why they weren't compatible to delay the ending, and at some point a lot of the audience was persuaded.

@BatchaTheGreat @Mellecon @TheCinesthetic And when they planned it, that made sense. The ending works if the show gets cancelled after season 1, and Victoria is the mother. But 9 seasons in, they weren't those people anymore. It had been made clear multiple times that Ted and Robin don't work.

@BatchaTheGreat @Mellecon @TheCinesthetic I don't think too many people didn't consider it was still going to be Robin, but the casting of Cristin Milioti was too good. It's one thing to kill off "the mother" when it was theoretical, faceless, and another thing in execution.

@BatchaTheGreat @Mellecon @TheCinesthetic Yeah, and it made sense at the moment, but the show continued and we kept not just being told "not Robin" but were given solid reasons for their incompatibility. Robin and Barney made more sense. And the pacing of the final season could give you whiplash.

And that's fine because I and every other continuing viewer made the decision to believe in that world again. As would anyone watching St. Elsewhere again.

@usergirlly @MoneeAries That's genetics, not the dress and the rest. Some people look older, some girls develop faster or are curvier. These girls shouldn't have to be shamed for their bodies or made to dress "modestly." They're not the problem.

@MoneeAries She’s in the 7th grade. She has on a gown, nails, hair, a full face of makeup and shadows of cleavage. Do I think she looks lovely? Yes. Do I think she looks more like a 15-17 year old? Yes. Both can be true.

When I say I’m utterly disgusting to see some of you truly become the women we hated growing up. Doing exactly what they did to some of us.. I don’t understand how y’all are like this.. all I see is a child , in a beautiful gown at a movie premiere that she’s starting in.

@MoneeAries I hate women doing this, who should know really well how the same clothes look different on different bodies and any meaning beyond that is projection and says nothing about the wearer.

@filippoq01 Sorry, you HAVE to speed it up since you visually read faster and narrators go exceptionally slow in order for every word to be understood and enunciated. As long as you don't go too fast, it still sounds natural.

Watching movies or listening to an audiobook at 1.25 or higher speed is anti art. Unless you've got some medical reason for it to me it seems very anti art.

Crystal was a little boring and got THREE chances to bring it and didn't, BUT I see how the season is missing someone who gets along with everyone to make the cast seem cohesive in a way I think Crystal could have x.com/thjaychristian…

@BrianJMoylan Everything I've ever seen about Crystal's actual life is interesting and there are moments on the show where you see her potential. I think they hosed her on the edit, and that we could have had a "Buffy" cameo because Crystal really does run with a fabulous circle of friends. 😉
