As a Catholic, I don't buy that @realDonaldTrump is dividing most Catholics at least in this country. Quite the opposite in fact. They agree with him because most American Cathloics hate that the church has become politically progressive, obsequoous to the left and at times openly Marxist. The Pope-who is American--is literally suggesting that we should turn a blind eye to the murderous mullahs, and the American taxpayer should subsidize the world's poor through open borders. As a result, the Pope and the Catholic Church is losing its relevance for most American Cathloics who believe it should stay out of politics and focus its attention to matters of faith and its own problems, lest we forget how it ignored child abuse for decades wsj.com/politics/trump…

Then JD Vance had to try to justify why Trump ordered Israel not to move to annex the West Bank only for Israel to not only ignore Trump, but purposely wait until Vance was in Israel to do it: to show who is Boss. Look at Vance squirm when asked:

Imagine if we didn't, and in five years... How many teachers would be dead. How many housing units leveled. How many bridges and roads cratered. ...if Iran had been allowed to continue missile and nuclear development with their ideology. (Plus, there is some future savings on the money we were spending every year to CONTAIN Iran. I read that was in the billions also.)

We are spending at least $500 million a day to bomb Iran. Imagine how many teachers we could hire, how many public housing units we could build, how many bridges and roads we could fix, if we spent that kind of money on improving life for working people?

That would be fine if morality had nothing to do with what happens in the real world. In reality, the suggestion is just silly. If you want to keep politics and religion separate, perhaps you folks could start by telling your Secretary of "War" to stop pretending to quote the bible when he's really quoting "Pulp Fiction." (And YOU claim the POPE doesn't know the bible. Wow.)

For all it's faults, it frightening to think where we'd be without X under Musk. I have recently come to the sad conclusion that folks who get all their news from a single news source with a relatively narrow market niche (top show on Fox gets around 4 million viewers, MSNow is around 2.25 million) aren't sufficiently exposed to the whole picture. In various encounters with folks on both sides, I have found them to be oblivious to information that I find vital because it obviously isn't emphasized by their news channel. And way too many have a simplistic knee-jerk us/them mentality that blocks them from moving in and out of lanes even when the facts tell them they should. Fortunately, the large swath of "independent" voters and various demographics (young men, Hispanic voters) have shown themselves to be sufficiently fluid to go with what they perceive is good for them. We need a lot more of that.

Fox News isn’t perfect but it’s frightening to think where we would be without it.
