During the last winter session of Parliament the entire opposition was protesting against SIR and other issues in the house. Like always the @AITCofficial MPs were in the well taking lead and protesting fearlessly. I was there and I heard a prominent Muslim MP (not from TMC) shouting at Yusuf Pathan and telling him to withdraw from the protest. Yusuf actually did withdraw and came back to his seat. I saw a change on Yusuf’s face, he was almost shivering. After that MP left, I went to Yusuf and asked him what happened? Why did he look scared? Yusuf told me that this person told him that he should not protest against BJP saying, “what is wrong with you? Why are you protesting against BJP. Khud ko dusmhman keun banarahe ho. They will bulldoze your house in Gujrat. In the meanwhile @MahuaMoitra came and asked me what had happened. I told her that Yusuf is scared because that individual told Yusuf that BJP will bulldoze his house in Gujrat. Mahua got furious and told Yusuf not to listen to that person, we are behind you, we are one and no one will dare to touch you or your family. One feels sorry for @MahuaMoitra & @AITCofficial . You had his back but he and his likes stabbed you in the back.

A Bajrang Dal goon Ganesh Vanzara and his associates from Naroda, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, intimidating a Muslim migrant from Uttar Pradesh and ordering him to vacate his rented home in a predominantly Hindu locality. Those present can be seen cheering and celebrating the act. The accused is himself proudly sharing this video on his Instagram account because he very well knows, Police will take no action against him. Home Minister @sanghaviharsh will not ask police to take action against the goons. Such acts of intimidation have become so normalized that even Media doesn't bother to highlight these incidents. Local Politicians don't want to comment on such issues as it will hurt their vote bank. Sorry @KirenRijiju, If I have maligned the Nation by highlighting the fact.

दाराब साहब आपने पूरा इंटरव्यू देखा, समय निकाला और अपनी असहमति विस्तार से लिखी, उसके लिए धन्यवाद। आपकी कई बातों से सहमति हो सकती है, कई बातों से असहमति भी। लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि आपने इंटरव्यू को एक पत्रकार की भूमिका के बजाय एक वैचारिक योद्धा की भूमिका से देखकर आंका है। मेरे लिए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि मैं किसी विचारधारा, संगठन, धर्म या राजनीतिक दल का प्रवक्ता नहीं हूँ। मैं एक पत्रकार हूँ। मेरा काम अपने मेहमान के विचारों को दर्शकों के सामने रखना, उनसे सवाल करना और समाज के लिए महत्वपूर्ण बहसों को रिकॉर्ड पर लाना है और फिर समाज को तय करने देना है। आपने जिन पांच बिंदुओं का के बारे में उल्लेख किया है, उन पर आपकी अपनी समझ और तर्क हैं। संभव है कि उन पर और तीखे सवाल पूछे जा सकते थे। किसी भी इंटरव्यू के बाद यह महसूस होना कि कुछ और प्रश्न होने चाहिए थे, पत्रकारिता की प्रक्रिया का स्वाभाविक हिस्सा है। लेकिन एक इंटरव्यू का उद्देश्य किसी मेहमान को हराना नहीं होता।अगर पत्रकार का लक्ष्य सिर्फ अपनी वैचारिक जीत साबित करना हो जाए तो वह इंटरव्यू नहीं, बहस का मंच बन जाता है। मुझे लगता है कि आज हमारे समय की सबसे बड़ी समस्या यही है कि हर व्यक्ति पत्रकार से अपने पक्ष का वकील बनने की अपेक्षा करता है। वामपंथी चाहते हैं कि पत्रकार दक्षिणपंथी को परास्त करे। दक्षिणपंथी चाहते हैं कि पत्रकार वामपंथी को ध्वस्त करे। लेकिन पत्रकार का कम किसी पक्ष की विजय नहीं, बल्कि जनता के सामने विचारों की परीक्षा है। जहाँ तक इस्लाम, हिंदुत्व, संघ, आरक्षण या किसी अन्य संवेदनशील विषय का प्रश्न है, मेरी स्थिति हमेशा स्पष्ट रही है। मैं किसी समुदाय के खिलाफ घृणा की राजनीति का समर्थक नहीं हूँ। मैं किसी धर्म के अनुयायियों को सामूहिक रूप से दोषी मानने में विश्वास नहीं करता। साथ ही मैं किसी भी विचार, संस्था या राजनीतिक आंदोलन को सवालों से परे भी नहीं मानता। अगर कोई व्यक्ति इस्लाम की आलोचना करता है, तो उसे भी सवालों का सामना करना चाहिए। अगर कोई हिंदुत्व की आलोचना करता है, तो उसे भी सवालों का सामना करना चाहिए। अगर कोई राज्य, सरकार, विपक्ष, मीडिया या न्यायपालिका की आलोचना करता है, तो उसे भी अपने तर्कों की कसौटी पर खरा उतरना चाहिए। पत्रकारिता का अर्थ ही यही है। आपने लिखा है कि “सेक्युलरिज्म की लड़ाई बारीक और पैनी है।” मैं इससे सहमत हूँ। लेकिन मैं यह भी जोड़ना चाहूँगा कि पत्रकारिता की लड़ाई भी उतनी ही बारीक और कठिन है। क्योंकि पत्रकार का काम किसी एक खेमे के लिए तालियाँ बटोरना नहीं, बल्कि उन लोगों से भी बात करना है जिनसे वह सहमत नहीं है। उन विचारों को भी सुनना है जो उसे असुविधाजनक लगते हैं। और उन प्रश्नों को भी उठाना है जिनसे समाज असहज होता है। मेरी पहचान किसी विचारधारा से नहीं, मेरे प्रश्नों से तय होगी। और मेरे प्रश्न पूर्ण नहीं हो सकते, लेकिन वे ईमानदार अवश्य होने चाहिए। असहमति लोकतंत्र की ताकत है। इसलिए आपकी आलोचना का स्वागत है। लेकिन मैं अपने लिए वही भूमिका चुनता हूँ जो पत्रकारिता की मूल भूमिका है। न किसी विचारधारा का सैनिक, न किसी संगठन का प्रचारक, बल्कि जनता और सत्ता दोनों से सवाल पूछने वाला एक पत्रकार। और अंत में, मैं इतना ही कहूँगा कि किसी भी इंटरव्यू को सिर्फ इस आधार पर नहीं आँकना चाहिए कि पत्रकार ने किसे चुप कराया और किसे नहीं। कई बार एक बातचीत का उद्देश्य जवाबों से अधिक उन विचारों को रिकॉर्ड पर लाना होता है जिन्हें समाज सुन रहा है, मान रहा है या चुनौती दे रहा है। मैं सीख रहा हूँ, लगातार सीख रहा हूँ। लेकिन मेरी कोशिश हमेशा यही रहेगी कि मैं अपने पूर्वाग्रहों से बड़ा रहूँ और अपने पेशे के प्रति ईमानदार रहूँ। सादर अनिल शारदा

RSS Dismisses Priyank Kharge’s Call for Registration, Calls Move “Political Gimmicks” Thrissur Kerala Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (#RSS) chief #MohanBhagwat has dismissed Karnataka Minister #PriyankKharge’s letter questioning the Sangh’s activities and demanding its registration, terming the move as “politics” and “gimmicks.” Responding to a query during a program in #Thrissur, Mohan Bhagwat said the RSS has always functioned openly and never operated in secrecy. “We are not secretive; we are working on open ground. Our shakhas are held in public spaces, our karyakartas live in localities, and people see them daily. We have enormous outreach programs, including Hindu Sammelans in every block this year,” he stated. Mohan Bhagwat emphasized that the Sangh has faced similar challenges since its inception. “After 10–15 years of starting Sangh, we had to face all these things. We are used to it. If they don’t happen, we feel something is amiss,” he remarked, adding that the organization was born out of “public will” during British rule.He pointed out that the RSS had been banned twice in the past, but the bans were lifted,once through a court order and once through satyagraha. “Government knows Sangh is there. Our constitution was submitted to the government in the 1950s. Nobody told us to register. Hindu Dharma is not registered. Many things are not registered. So why should I respond? All this is politics. Nothing serious,” Bhagwat said. The RSS chief accused political opponents of attempting to “hamper Sangh work” and “create doubts in the minds of people,” but insisted such efforts would fail as “people know us.” @PriyankKharge @RSSorg

Our Electoral democracy is compromised in multiple ways: A lapdog ECI which is selectively removing & adding voters thru a corrupt & non-Transparent SIR. EVMs which increasingly seem manipulated & ECI refusing to give source code of software in them. Not counting VVPAT slips. ECI not putting out voting figures of Form 17C in public domain. Increasing the Votes declared after polls in next few days before counting. Not providing CCTV footage of queues outside polling booths. Arbitrarily rejecting nominations of opposition candidates. Selectively enforcing model code of conduct only against opposition candidates. Unfortunately, the Courts, particularly the SC is playing along with the govt & ECI in this throttling of democracy. Judges should remember that going along with the govt in throttling democracy may secure them a promotion & post retirement jobs, but is creating increasing distrust & anger against them. They will go out in ignominy & will be insulted in public & by posterity. This is exactly what happened to judges who failed to protect democracy & rights in the past. On the other hand, judges who stood up are revered & worshipped. See Justice Khanna & Justice Krishna Iyer as some shining examples

So Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination from Madhya Pradesh was rejected because "she didn’t disclose a private complaint" in her affidavit. But the Hyderabad court has now returned that very petition, holding that it has no jurisdiction. The complaint was never taken cognizance of, and she was only named as a respondent & "not as an accused." Unfortunately the Hon'ble Supreme Court had already dismissed her plea. This is how the system screws you & the opposition lost a fair seat! I agree she was done in by some people but the institutions should protect the weak not allow for manipulation!
