We always knew it as Tollyganj or Tollygunge. We always knew it as Ballygunge. But leave it to @BJP4India to correct us. Turns out it’s “Tollygang” and “Ballyganj”. A party that cannot pronounce the names of Bengal’s Assembly Constituencies wants to dictate Bengal’s future. Bengal’s identity cannot be misspelt, mispronounced or misappropriated by Bangla-Birodhi Bohiragotos who treat our soil like a temporary campaign stop.

.@BJP4India is falling apart from every direction, and the collapse is accelerating in real time. Within hours of the second list of candidates being announced, violent protests erupted in Malbazar. Angry BJP workers and supporters turned on their own party. Dissatisfied with the ticket distribution, they vandalized the BJP office itself, tearing posters, setting things on fire, and creating a tense, chaotic situation on the streets. This is open rebellion from within. The cracks have widened into gaping, irreparable holes. The ship they sailed into Bengal with so much arrogance is now sinking fast, taking on water from every leak of infighting, factionalism, and mass rejection.

For a fourth consecutive term, the people of Bengal are poised to repose their faith in the Trinamool Congress. With a commitment to sustaining the momentum of development across every corner of the state, the people stand resolute in strengthening the hands of Smt. @MamataOfficial. Undeterred by the noise of misinformation and the weight of conspiracies, Bengal remains focused on its path of progress, dignity, and inclusive growth. This is a collective assertion of trust, an emphatic endorsement of Maa-Mati-Manush. In 2026, Bengal will rise above all distractions and once again secure a decisive mandate for continuity, stability, and people-centric governance ✌️💚

Before the people of Bengal even get the chance to reject @BJP4India, they have already been rejected by their own karyakartas. In Alipurduar, BJP workers and active supporters staged a sit-in demonstration against their own candidate, waving “Go Back” placards, blocking the path, and openly declaring that he would not even be allowed to enter the BJP party office. This is the complete collapse of discipline, unity, and credibility inside the saffron camp. Infighting. Factionalism. Rebellion from the ground up. BJP in Bengal is no longer a political force, it is a joke of a party tearing itself apart from within.

Smt. @MamataOfficial has written to the Chief Election Commissioner, placing on record grave concerns over the unprecedented, arbitrary, and partisan actions of @ECISVEEP. The unilateral transfer of senior administrative and police officers, without consultation with the State Government, without citing reason, and without any allegation of misconduct, raises serious questions about the neutrality of the Election Commission. At this most critical juncture, while the fraudulent SIR process drags on, while supplementary electoral rolls remain deliberately unpublished in defiance of the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s clear directions, the Commission has chosen to create administrative chaos by axing these officers. These moves are designed to engineer instability in Bengal, erode the principles of democracy, and strangle cooperative federalism in broad daylight.

I have written to the Chief Election Commissioner, expressing deep concern over the Election Commission’s arbitrary and unprecedented actions. The large-scale transfer of senior officials, without consultation, reason, or any allegation of misconduct, seriously disrupts administration and raises questions about institutional neutrality. At a time when the flawed SIR process continues and supplementary rolls remain unpublished despite Supreme Court directions, such moves only deepen uncertainty and hinder citizens’ rights. These actions risk undermining democratic principles and cooperative federalism. I have urged the Commission to desist from such unilateral decisions and uphold fairness, transparency, and the rights of the people.

When it comes to women’s safety, Kolkata leads from the front. Under the visionary leadership of Smt. @MamataOfficial, transformative initiatives like the ‘Shining’ mobile patrol teams and ‘Pink Booths’ are strengthening on-ground protection for women across the city. Because for the Maa-Mati-Manush Government, safeguarding the dignity, security, and freedom of every woman is not a promise, it is a responsibility we uphold every single day.

Despite the clear orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, the Election Commission has refused to release supplementary lists, pushing ordinary people into a nightmare of fear, anguish, and perpetual torment. And the price of @ECISVEEP’s callous indifference and shameless collusion with @BJP4India? It is costing innocent lives. A man in Baduria, North 24 Parganas, hanged himself in sheer desperation, driven to suicide by the anxiety of his name being put under adjudication, with no clarity from the Commission on the supplementary lists. 200 deaths have already stained this fraudulent process. 200 lives sacrificed at the altar of electoral manipulation. And the trail of blood leads straight to @narendramodi, @AmitShah, and Mr. Vanish Kumar, the architects of this voter vanishing act. Is this what the BJP meant by “Banchte Chai, BJP Tai”? That the people’s very right to live with dignity, to exist as voters, will be snatched away under the cover of “reform”?

Due to the failed policies and criminal incompetence of the @narendramodi government, the poor and vulnerable people of India are left to pay the heaviest price. LPG cylinder prices have skyrocketed to unbearable levels. A crippling, man-made shortage has left kitchens empty and families in despair. @BJP4India spent ₹1,737.68 crore on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, more than the combined expenditure of at least seven opposition parties. But when it comes to providing subsidies for ordinary families? When it comes to ensuring affordable gas for the kitchens of the poor? Suddenly, there is no money. They distribute cash to buy votes. But they cannot, and will not, distribute gas to light the chulhas of India’s poorest households.

The manner in which the Election Commission has singled out and targeted Bengal is not just unprecedented- It is deeply alarming. Even before the formal notification of elections, more than 50 senior officials including the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, ADGs, IGs, DIGs, District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police have been summarily and arbitrarily removed. This is not administrative action rather this is political interference of the highest order. The systematic politicisation of institutions meant to remain impartial is a direct assault on the Constitution. At a time when a deeply flawed SIR process is underway and over 200 lives have already been lost, the conduct of the Commission reflects a clear bias and an uncomfortable submission to political interests, continuing to put the people of Bengal at risk. Supplementary electoral rolls are still not published, in clear disregard of the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s directions, leaving citizens anxious and uncertain. Meanwhile, senior officers from critical agencies like IB, STF and CID are being selectively removed and dispatched out of the state, pointing to a calculated attempt to cripple Bengal’s administrative machinery. Why is the BJP so desperate? Why this relentless targeting of Bengal and its people? What satisfaction do they derive from forcing citizens, even after 78 years of Independence, to stand in queues and prove their own citizenship? The contradictions in the Commission’s actions expose its complete collapse of credibility. It claims that removed officers should not be assigned election duties, yet within hours, the same officers are sent out as election observers. The appointment of the Commissioners of Police of Siliguri and Bidhannagar as observers, without even putting replacements in place, left two vital urban centres effectively headless. It was only after this glaring lapse came to light that rushed corrections followed. This is not governance. It reflects chaos, confusion and sheer incompetence being passed off as authority. This is not incidental, it points to a deliberate design to seize control of West Bengal through coercion and institutional manipulation. What we are witnessing is nothing short of an undeclared emergency and an unpromulgated form of president’s rule driven by political vendetta, not democratic principles. Having failed to win the trust of Bengal’s people, the BJP is now attempting to capture the state through coercion, intimidation, manipulation and the misuse of institutions. I stand in complete solidarity with every officer of the Government of West Bengal and their families, who are being targeted simply for serving the state with honesty and commitment. Bengal has never bowed to intimidation and it never will. Bengal will fight, Bengal will resist and Bengal will decisively defeat every attempt to impose a divisive and destructive agenda on its soil.

.@narendramodi, you can try to misinform our people with manufactured lies all you want, but you cannot hide the brutal reality staring you in the face. The highest number of migrant workers are not fleeing Bengal. They are fleeing @BJP4India-ruled states in search of the most basic livelihoods. Uttar Pradesh. Bihar. Madhya Pradesh. Rajasthan. Odisha. These are the real epicentres of despair under your “Double Engine” sarkar, with rising unemployment, vanishing jobs, shrinking opportunities, families torn apart, people forced to leave their homes, their soil, their dignity just to survive.
