@wholemars Looking at old data I have. HW3 production ran for about 4 years. 2019-2022. That's about 3.2M cars that can add FSD. Take rates were reported to be much higher back then when we thought FSD would be solved much sooner. I estimated 1.3M bought full purchase.

There are probably around 3.5 million hardware 3 Teslas worldwide.
Bringing V14 to these cars will be an absolutely huge deal. Millions of people will get to experience what the latest FSD is capable of.

To all HW3 owners, I understand your frustration. I see many people saying that itโs a lie from Elon and Tesla, etc., but I believe rather that I wouldnโt call it a lie. Iโd rather say itโs an overestimation on the part of Elon and Tesla.
We also have to remember that vision-based autonomous driving is a new technology, so itโs difficult to predict. Nevertheless, I still find it honest of them to propose several solutions to remedy it.
