National League on DAZN@DAZN_NationalLg

🚨 Rochdale and York City have released the following joint statement: “This Saturday’s game brings an end to one of the most thrilling, exciting and unpredictable title races in football history. Both ourselves and Rochdale have the chance to write our names in National League history. The National League is no longer a non-league competition. It is effectively a League 3, with fully professional clubs operating at a level equal to or higher than many of those in League 2. We both understand how important this game is to both clubs and supporters. We both pledge now that whatever happens tomorrow, we will both continue to fight for 3UP. Both clubs sit on over 100 points. One of us will have to fight once more in the National League Play-Offs. However, we both strongly believe that this shouldn’t have to be the case. We call on the National League, Football Regulator, EFL and Premier League to come together immediately and resolve this issue, so that we do not have to highlight this injustice year after year. For both sets of supporters attending the Crown Oil Arena this weekend, we say thank you for being with us all season. The passion you’ve shown for both clubs has been felt across the world. This game will be seen far and wide. We want to showcase this league for all its potential. Keep your support in the stands, not on the pitch, and let’s all protect the game we love. Thank you! Rochdale AFC & York City FC”

5 years ago today Tottenham Hotspur were one of the English clubs who tried to pull the football ladder up from under them, by announcing their involvement in the short-lived European Super League. Their proposal would have broken the fundamental rule that underpins the national game - that sliver of a dream all fans have, that their team might climb the pyramid and compete with the best. It seems fitting and ironic that today Spurs sit in the relegation zone having still not won this calendar year. They tried to leave the Premier League for greener pastures, instead Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of relegation. And because of their willingness to betray the national game, few fans from ‘the other 14’ will have any sympathy at all.

It wasn’t a pacing issue or anything, unlike Breaking Bad, which stuck the landing perfectly. Ozark was mostly undone by the second half of its final season, especially the last five minutes of the finale. That ending didn’t just disappoint, it wiped out the legacy it had been building all along.

.@KemiBadenoch displays her total lack of understanding of the energy sector. She argues for more drilling in the North Sea to protect us from this energy crisis - seemingly oblivious to two very important facts. The first is we don't set the price of our north sea oil and gas - we let global markets do that. So in a crisis where global prices sky rocket, how can the answer can be to produce more globally priced oil here - it’s (energy market) illiterate to say so. The answer is to take control of our own energy pricing, starting with our own North Sea, as we have already with retail energy bills. Impose a price and profit cap. If we do this as part of an entire sector move - capping all wholesale prices, then we can combat this crisis and those that are coming next. The second very important fact Kemi seems unaware of is that it will take up to five years to produce anything new from our North Sea. So even if that could help us, it can’t help us with anything soon. And it won’t help us for long because our North Sea is all but empty, there’s 10% left. Our North Sea has been in decline for 30 years, shedding jobs and production capacity - because it’s running out - this has been going on for far longer than green energy has been a thing - to blame green energy for the decline of the North Sea is ignorant (of the facts). And Global markets have been filling the gap between what we make and what we use for decades now - Kemi seems not to know this either. As for energy bills, Badenoch seems unaware that the ‘green taxes’ we have on our energy bills were added by previous Tory governments. She seems also unaware that we spend vast sums subsiding fossils fuels - £17 billion a year at the last count. She operates in a fantasy environment, or would have us do - where green taxes have ruined the country and our oil and gas industry and all we need to do is drill more - it’s delusional. It’s straight out of the mouth of Trump.

Good news regarding the M3 breakdown! RAC man thought the M3 might have slipped its timing chain. That would have been a £10k+ bill 😲 Instead, and as I suspected, the culprit was the fuelling system (I've just had 6 pages of preventative maintenance done, including the fuelling system). In the end, this is what my specialist has diagnosed and now fixed: "We've got to the bottom of the M3 and nothing major luckily. The new BMW fuel sender we fitted turned out to not read correctly on one side of the fuel tank so when it got low it basically didnt suck the fuel from one side to the other of the tank. One side of the fuel tank was reading empty and the other half full. BMW have sent us a new one under warranty which we've fitted and tested and it's now reading correctly with what is in the tank. It’s all ready to go so when is good for you?" Phew!

My Championship team of the season so far. I know Crama has played a lot at RB but van Ewijk has to be in there. Davis, Bola and Targett have been good but I couldn’t put them in, think Doyle has been exceptional albeit outside CB so stuck him there. Rest speak for themselves

My plan in 2022 was to lower the cost of domestic energy in Britain (relative to the international market) by: - abolishing windfall tax on North Sea - licensing new North Sea production - allowing fracking - abolishing green taxes and subsidies This would have lowered Britain's domestic energy costs relative to the international market. At the same time we would guarantee that energy bills would not go above £2,500 - recognising the prior state failure in ensuring security of energy and the necessity of energy for the economy. Because this only paid out when energy prices were high- its cost would be quickly reduced/eliminated by falling domestic energy prices thanks to supply side policy. Needless to say the Treasury was unable/unwilling to model this and the policy was missrepresented by the media who simply don't understand this stuff. My successors continued with the price guarantee but failed to implement the supply side measures. Thus we are back to square one. It's still the right policy.
