Just a reminder: The media said it wasn't Biden's fault when gas prices spiked because they're "set globally" — they called it "Putin's price hike." When prices were low under Trump, they said he "doesn't deserve credit" because presidents "can't control gas prices." But now that prices are up under Trump they’re happy to blame him.

You can't actually be this bad at logic. They called it "Putin's price hike" because Putin started the war that led to the spike in gas prices. They're similarly blaming Trump for the most recent price spike because he started the war that's caused that spike. There's nothing inconsistent here.

A loud minority distrust everything mainstream media says. If it comes from The NY Times, they believe it’s a lie! This is a dangerous POV leading to serious hand-in-the-sand syndrome. (I added the president poll to show my Times trusting people weren’t all commies!) Btw, I am not arguing that we should always trust the media. They get stuff wrong sometimes! And during peak woke (2015-2021), they destroyed a lot of trust by being too acquiescent to a social justice activist worldview. They’ve improved since then, but I still give them a skeptical eye. However *generally* the best of them (NYT, WSJ, Economist) do a decent job.
