@BurialMagazine @truhtnac Masterful! Shades of the movie "Her" coupled with a quintessential British sex farce stage play. This, in fact, could be turned into a one act play. What a joy to read.

@brevitymag Important to remember that and not compare yourself to others who are special in their own way. Staying true to what makes you special is the ultimate test.

@HAWKEYE_mag @brooksegerton We're getting near the end feels like the new form of, nice weather we're having. Or maybe it's another version of me saying to people, I worry about this future for my kids.

In #67, we welcome back @brooksegerton, who shows us a strained encounter between strangers at the dollar store. Read “The End” to see how divides in faith, race, & generational mindsets soil a brand-new pair of underwear. Cheers, Brooks! 🍸🍸 hawkeyemag.com/stories/egerto…

I agree, very strongly. I'd rate NO NAME ON THE BULLET as one of the best westerns of the 50s. It's a must-see for anyone who thinks that 50s westerns didn't deal in complexity and moral ambiguity and anti-heroes.
Laura G@LaurasMiscMovie

I endorse Anne's recommendation very strongly - this is a great film, one of Audie's very best. As Universal movies are shown less often on TCM, definitely calendar this and take advantage of it being shown! x.com/noirfoundation…

@1funnyfarmAdams @melissacuisine Strong metaphor about the weight of the dress. The burden of marriage, with all its expectations, once so promising and fantasy-like, symbolized by the dress.

Leave it to Travis to concoct a zany, slapstick story and then end it with the most poignant sentences. This story took me back to second grade and my favorite book, Moon Man. The man in the moon is lonely but when he comes to Earth for companionship he's treated like an invader for being different and chased away.

Been trying to crack HAD for like a year and they finally let my weird ass in 🙏 Here's "Moon Story." It's a story. About the moon. Big thanks to @fowlinghantod picking it up 🫡

@BulbRegion @TheEcemYucel "Stranger body mate." The love/hate relationship we have with our bodies! Vivid imagery. And why do these cancers/non-cancers have to be these multi-syllabic words you can't pronounce.

I'll keep it at one. A Separate Peace by John Knowles. Never forgot it from high school. Timeless story of friendship, envy, conformity, individuality. When I worked in publishing, a friend of the author's told me that Knowles never stopped getting fan mail and wrote everyone back and said to re-read it when they turned 30.

For #66, we present an allegorical oddity that teaches us about the martial art of kindness. Whether you're from the easternmost hills or the lopsided tenements in the west, we encourage you to practice “Kindness” by @travis_shosa. Cheers, Travis! 🍸🍸 hawkeyemag.com/stories/shosa-…

@MISTERBULLBULL Man, there's a lot going on here. Crazy, metaphorical allegory about creativity and loss. His best carvings might come out of his loss. "A tree of babies." And I'm afraid of what he's going to do with that knife when he goes upstairs.

@MaudlinHouse "I thought you were a vase." Wasn't it obvious! My take @travis_shosa is that we use drugs to create a new space to find happiness when it's really right here, right in that dusty old guitar. Such a sweet honest ending.

I agree. I saw it at a re-release at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in 1999. My first time seeing it on film after experiencing it only on VHS or cable. But the audience was laughing at parts. It took away the power. The girl in front of me passed out in her seat during the hospital spinal tap scene. Her body collapsed.

I've just rewatched The Exorcist for what must be at least the 30th time and it's lost none of its power. One of those films which leaves you silent for a time. #horror #horrormovies
