She is the bookmakers' 6/4 favourite to be the next Labour leader. She is ferociously effective at PMQs, has genuine roots in working-class communities, and connects with voters that Starmer visibly struggles with. Is she the future Labour needs?

Today, an Israeli quadcopter drone fell in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza. When residents tried to approach it, they found it carrying large quantities of drugs, which indicates that it may have been deliberately dropped among civilians. Israel has tried by all means and methods to destroy the lives of Palestinians, killing them, displacing them from their homes, and starving them. Now it is using another malicious method: dropping drugs among them, in an attempt to undermine Gaza society from within.

I say this as someone in favour of infinity trams and micromobility. But in coastal towns and cities, with higher shop vacancies - and large numbers of people with substance abuse issues (from elsewhere) it’s not been good.

Pedestrianisation hasn’t worked everywhere, and it’s reasonable to be honest about that. It’s contributed to death of town centre in Bournemouth, and Commercial road in Portsmouth. If you don’t have high footfall creates major problems.

Today is 13 years since the Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh, which killed 1,134 people. It remains one of the most brutal lessons on occupational health and safety and how worker’s rights and trade union freedoms are key for it. We remember the dead and fight for the living.
