It's interesting to see this style of maid associated with Britain. In America we tend to call the outfit "French maid" because we were introduced to it through movie adaptations of French books. However, many modern Americans associate maids with Japan (especially when they have full-length skirts) because of maid cafes and imported anime. In another 100 years Americans might call it a "Japanese maid" outfit instead. Personally, I love all maids. I'm glad to see so many of them on Twitter this week.

There isn't really a distinction aside from connotation. When you say "drone" someone imagines a functional device (probably a quadcopter), when you say "RC aircraft" someone imagines a toy. There's no real difference unless you're a hobbyist trying to get into a recreational flight club's field. There are cheap airframes marketed as "RC planes" that some people in rural areas use for mapping to keep costs down. It's generally more helpful to describe a UAS by whether or not it's used for recreation.

@DrChrisCombs I grew up in a time where I heard the phrase "RC plane/helicopter" and was both a bit miffed and a tad confused when it seemed like those same things started getting called drones. It's a blurry line sometimes, but I like the granularity vs lump summing it all as "drones".
