very insightfull here from @Power_32 If your unlucky enough to be a ridiculously deep keeper league, be prepared to have your teeth kicked in , albeit in a humerous fashion, by Mr Power on draft day

Smallest margin thus far this round? 41 points. Gap between top 9 and bottom 9 worsening. Season is struggling to deliver unfortunately.

Imagine in 2025 a WH title match being decided by a sleeper hold 🤣🤣🤣 Not even Brutus Beefcake won a title with it back in the day That’s the most appropriate ending imaginable for Jey Uso!! Doesn’t have an original or athletic bone in his body #WrestleMania

@Adamking91 Struggling to set up a pick em league in Fantrax. Is this a setting they offer freely or a subscription service?

The rest situation is quite simply a joke at the moment. These teams are just taking the piss aren't they? Let's see what we can get away with before Adam Silver pulls his head out of his backside. All of my leagues next season will end prior to the All-Star break and possibly the trade deadline. Then we switch to pick'em leagues, where injuries and rest have little to no consequence when it comes to your fantasy squad.

So, here are the changes I referenced earlier in the day. And yes, I am aware that this won't be for everyone and won't 'fix' the issues. The first issue is pretty simple. Nobody wants to have their playoffs with all of these scripted absences. The easy solution is to shorten your league to avoid the silly season. In a 14-team home league I'm in, I will be reducing the regular season to 13 rounds, to allow everyone to play each team once. Then we move into a standard playoff series (top-6 or top-8) and we are done and dusted by the time we hit the trade deadline and All-Star break. The compromise here is obvious. This means the fantasy season is done by February, so we have two months with no fantasy basketball. That itself is telling. I think the bigger issue for people is not that their league is finishing earlier, it's that they will then have nothing to do for a couple of months. So, why not then shift gears into a second league with your fellow managers? The biggest issue as we move through February, March and April is the player absences I mentioned earlier. Running a second head-to-head league is not going to eliminate that issue. Managers will still be dealing with all the uncertainties we are seeing right now. So for the second league, I have two ideas. The first is to allow managers to select their 'best' players to start the second league with. Shorten the rosters to whatever number you feel works (this could be seven or eight players) with maybe six active spots. This would make the player pool much deeper, somewhat negating scripted absences. For me, I would only use this option if the majority of managers were set on keeping 'their' players. The second idea would be to run the second league as a pick'em format. For those that haven't done a pick'em league before, it's very simple. Everyone starts with a clear roster. You pick six players (PG, SG, SF, PF, C, FLX) from the player pool for day one. The main difference is that all players are available to all managers. So for example, every manager could select Nikola Jokic as their center for day one. Day two rolls around and you drop him and pick up Karl-Anthony Towns. Day three, the Nuggets play again, so you move on from Towns and grab Jokic. So, everyone picks a new six players every day. This then continues for the remainder of the season. One big advantage of a league like this is that if a player gets injured, you just drop them for the next day and don't have to deal with all of the uncertainty. When they are healthy again, you can consider picking them up. Another advantage is that a league like this can run until the final day of the season, subsequently making your fantasy season even longer. This pick'em league can be either a category or points format, whichever you prefer.
