Friend of mine reposted this today and I just want to take an opportunity to address it in its full intellectual sleight of hand.
The debate IS NOT funding DHS.
The debate IS funding ICE.
So asserting “oh the Dems want to fund all this stuff” is just “cool story bro.”
If the debate is the funding of ICE, then you going “it’s not the Dems fault” would have to look like “they wanted $10 for ICE and the Dems were willing to give $5.01 (aka >50% of what the Rs want) and they still won’t budge!”
But that’s not the case at all, is it?
The case is they want to argue “look we are agreeing to all this stuff that we both want, now in the area we have any disagreement, you need to capitulate entirely” which is batshit.
The only way this scenario would come off as a compromise if the assertion is that Dems didn’t want to fund that other $90.
If we both agree on Pizza, and for some bizarre reason we are discussing the 10 toppings we want on it and can agree on 9, it’s not “compromise” in any way regarding the 10th topping if you just insist we get the pizza with 9 toppings and disregard the 10th altogether.

Back on 23Feb it was reported in the Hill that Iran had reached levels of 60% enrichment for their uranium. For commercial energy you need 3-5%, for weapons grade, you need 90%. Why you’re enriching past 60% seems to run contrary to any prohibition (thehill.com/policy/interna…).
Carrying on down the line, I mean, material does no good without a delivery mechanism, right? Well, as it turns out, they are working on those as well as Reuters reports back on 28Feb (What are Iran's ballistic missile capabilities? - reuters.com/business/aeros…).
This all when viewed in conjunction with our lead negotiator, Steve Witkoff’s, own statements regarding the Iranian uranium enrichment status both in amount (460kgs) and time horizon to 90% enrichment (7-10 days) as reported by CBS on 3Mar (cbsnews.com/amp/news/trump…) doesn’t seem to jive with anything that is being said here.
There has to be a disconnect or confusion or something, but these pieces of information are contradictory in nature.

I like Joe, but this doesn’t make any sense when viewed in conjunction with Witkoff’s statements from the negotiations back in like the 3rd of Iran having “no notion of doing anything other than retaining enrichment for the purpose of weaponizing.”
