Buckle up because some of you may not like this. I believe part of what WP is speaking to is Faith vs Saving Faith. It looks like this: Notitia - knowledge “I know it” Assensus - I assent / agree “I believe it’s true” Fiducia- trust / personal reliance “I trust and give myself to it” Many of us check those first two boxes. Even demons know and believe Jesus is real and they shudder. Saving faith comes in that last word, Fiducia. This is when you trust in Gods truth and give yourself to it. Total submission to His will and have faith that He has a good plan for you.

So later when Paul says it in Galatians 1:4 he's not creating something new. He's teaching precisely what Jesus did.
