At least Trump came out and made it clear that he thought the image showed him as a doctor. Whether you believe that or not at least he didn’t double down. I recently did an interview with The Times about my book and the unhealthy nature of social media. It was part of an ongoing attempt to find a healthier balance between “unabomber in the woods” and “full-blown internet addict.” Ironically, given the subject matter, the headline itself ended up being particularly click-baity, which then triggered an avalanche of follow-up pieces all arriving at the same conclusion: The manosphere destroyed my life. (Note: I've never said this, even though multiple articles state it's a quote) As always, whenever you read anything about me, even if I’ve given the interview, keep in mind I’m not framing the piece, choosing quotes or shaping the direction. While the interviewer was thoughtful / kind (it was almost certainly an editor who chose the title), in this case, I’d argue the truth is almost the exact opposite of the headline. Duh, there’s a bit of a cosmic irony to my life, I wrote about plenty of it in my book. Going from being one of YouTube’s most visible anti-feminist voices parading trad conservatism a decade ago to speaking openly about a marriage collapsing and now giving evidence in cases involving Andrew Tate is, obviously, quite a contrast. Everyone loves a good “leopards ate her face” narrative, but I don’t think it’s especially shocking that a 30-year-old might have evolved somewhat from the 19-year-old version of herself that first went viral? In a pre-virality world that would just be growing up. What I also find a bit silly - is that in almost every story involving someone harmed by crime, the language gets delicately curated into: they’re a survivor, not a victim. Yet somehow, because of my time in right-wing media, I get DESTROYED. Nice, lol. (again this was the editor, not the journalist) For the record, I don’t feel like a victim, a survivor, or any number of buzzwords, and I certainly don’t feel like my life has been destroyed. If the manosphere had “destroyed my life”, it would probably look more like me uploading daily slop titled “OnlyFans girl WRECKED by FACTS and LOGIC” and spending my days trapped forever in podcast purgatory. Instead, I got the chance to develop an entirely different perspective on life, and, in some small way, help undo some of the damage that reductive manosphere ideology caused in the first place. I’m now involved in multiple cases across multiple jurisdictions involving the Tate brothers. Police reports were filed. Medical documentation from 2018 exists - long before any of this became public, and long before he was famous. Tate’s lawyer McBride said nine months ago they were absolutely going to sue me. I haven’t received so much as a cease and desist. When I followed up, McBride blocked me (lol). They won’t sue me because I’m telling the truth. The performance was for their goofy audience. Their main attack dog, Milo Yiannopoulos, who helped publish defamatory material about me in 2019 (and onward), has now blocked me too, after I pointed out he accidentally admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that the Tate brothers hired him for PR. After Tommy Robinson made a video claiming he “knew I was lying” because I had supposedly returned to Romania, I produced legal and travel documents showing I never did. Since then, silence. Meanwhile, I got a protective order against my ex, have custody of my child, rebuilt my life, rebuilt my community. I’m playing sports again, going back to school, and have largely freed my mind from total capture by the culture-war cinematic universe. And whenever I do pop in here to check on things, it mostly seems like the manosphere itself is in visible decline, especially after Louis Theroux’s recent documentary. Looking at all of that, I don’t think I’m the one whose life has been destroyed by the manosphere. Kinda feeling like I hopped off a sinking ship early - and now get to watch the chaos from a safe distance. Anyway, carry on. ✨
