I thought this might be good in getting people to shift to geopolitics markets, but maybe actually this will cause poly to push non-geopolitics way more as that’s where they get their money?

@dilanesper The whole argument seems kinda dumb when you dig into it. Like, if you cast a ballot on Election Day, but for logistical reasons it is only counted after Election Day, shouldn’t that be a violation under Republicans’ theory? I don’t see why “at the ballot box” is a special place

I am rather annoyed today, listen to the Supreme Court interpreting a vague statute that just defines "Election Day" as imposing a detailed code regarding who casts a ballot, who receives it, when it is received, and when it is counted. #appellatetwitter

first they came for the crypto markets and i did not speak out because i did not trade crypto markets then they came for the sports markets and i did not cry out because i didn't trade sports markets then they added fees to everything and there was no one left to cry out for me

We should be tying our aid to Israel to a million conditions but one easy starting one is insisting that no coalition government contain Otzma Yehudit, which is essentially the Israeli KKK that represents these people and has been in government since 2022

What became clear to me when I first started tuning into politics in 2016 is that most people cannot be trusted with facts and the only way they can make sensible political decisions is when they are getting cues from elites

@penguin_pmkt As someone who doesn’t make their living from this stuff I’m also not so invested in prediction markets succeeding, if they fuck around too much I do think it’s right for them to find out.

- I hope SCOTUS rules that ballots must arrive by Eday (presuming they do it well before EDay to give people time to adapt) -I don’t think that’s the right ruling, per the law - Per SCOTUS blog, that’s probably how they will rule

I think I’d vote no on the Italian referendum, though not sure: - separation of prosecutor and judge paths doesn’t seem like a big deal - choosing the council by sortition seems bad. List of candidates chosen by parliament -disciplinary conduct court seems ok but experts oppose

Nebraska's GOP secretary of state tried to toss a Dem Senate candidate from the ballot, & a lower court judge let them do it last week. But the state supreme court stepped in and has stopped this, restoring Cynthia Burbank to the ballot. nebraskapublicmedia.org/en/news/news-a…

The international democracy experts all seem to be against it, arguing that it weakens judicial independence. I think they’re often too sensitive to judicial independence over democracy or other concerns, but still it’s a definite datapoint

@amablue_ @adrusi @LinkofSunshine I think also Claude's usage limits got relaxed sometime in the time between when people first tried it and when the DoD negotiation drama occurred. I know for me that's why I've started exclusively using Claude instead of a mix
