@HippyMomPhD Wrestling with my kids is one of my absolute favorite things. I am trying to get it all in while I can, before they get too big!
Big believer that it’s a mental health boost for me and them.

@burnttoast66 @AbsolutelyMindy @guyraz Same!
We took an hour every morning for what we called "Puzzles & Podcasts."
The kids did puzzles while listening to @wowintheworld
Might be the only part of the pandemic I look back fondly on!
English

Looking to make car rides with your kids more enjoyable?
Download the @wowintheworldpodcast, hosted by @guyraz & @AbsolutelyMindy.
It’s a wholesome and wacky scientific game show. We listen every morning on the way to school.
Available wherever you get your podcasts!
English

@RaedyBird Oh! One of my absolute favorites.
Simple language, complex ideas, universal feelings.
Sendak is a master!

@ReadingFam I'll never get over how much fun "Where the Wild Things are" is to read! Short, but full and lovely. And I have a wild thing, so it melts my momma heart.
English

@dpolehn The Lorax is one Seuss book we don’t have. We’ve watched the movie but I don’t think I’ve ever sat down and read it.
Thanks for motivating me to check it out!
English

@ReadingFam I get pretty into The Lorax. Not sure my kids enjoy it as much but it makes for a good dramatic reading.
English

@brianpmccann Oh man, it’s a classic!
My wife’s parents gave us a huge box of books when we had our first kid. This book was in that box.
English

@ReadingFam There’s a children’s dog book that I don’t know about?!
Jason, you never disappoint.
English

@ReadingFam And we can create a cadre of excellence around us no matter what our environment, just by using books, the Internet, and studying the works of the greats.
When we immerse in excellence, we become excellent ourselves.
English

@offgridteacher I just listened to a reading of "The Old Man and the Afternoon Cat" on YouTube, based on your recommendation. What a wonderful story!
Thank you for sharing!
English

@ReadingFam When we were little my parents got a bunch of random kids books published by Parents Magazine. My personal favorite was “The Old Man and the Afternoon Cat.” Now, I read those random books to my niece and nephew.
English

@jackmoses0 Regret is fascinating. I’m always framing things through the idea of regret
If I do this, will I regret it?
If I say yes/no to this, will I regret it?
If I eat this, will I regret it?
Will I regret spending time __________?
Like checking the other lane before merging.

@JB_Goldstein After a wrestling practice, my son will be sweaty and exhausted both physically and mentally.
On the way home, I sometimes ask him what he thinks other kids in his class are doing right now.
Him: “Probably playing video games. They couldn’t do what I just did.”

This is the exact reason to enroll young kids in sport
It brings them directly into contact with failure but builds them up to take on the adversity and physically conquer it
Ana Lorena Fabrega@anafabrega11
Failure should be something we encourage when kids are young, not punish. They have to try many different things that don’t work before they can find the things that do. Our society needs failure to fuel discovery and progress.
English

@Homeschool_LLC Yes!
So important to make this time a conversation too.
When you stop to talk about a word or idea they don't know, they're learning.
And when they interrupt to point at or talk about a car or dog on the page, you learn about their interests.
Win-win.

Read out loud together as a family and take turns reading. (Pro tip: Dad must do the voices)
This is the way. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Rob Wood@coachrobwood
We love to read out loud together in the evenings as a family! Next on the reading list…
English

@JB_Goldstein The library is one of society's greatest treasures. They let us glimpse immortality and the lasting power of the written word.
English

@TheJackBly I am a recent Zach Bryan convert. Thought the dude was all hype. Now I can't stop listening to "American Heartbreak."
Dude is special.
English

@JB_Goldstein Makes me wish we still had snow on the ground here
