Speaking on behalf of the team, our CEO Ms. Proscovia Nabbanja (@CEO_UNOC) noted that the Ramadan season offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect, give back, and extend support to those in need. “Today is one of the days we value as UNOC because it reflects our commitment to spreading love through charity,” she said. We believe in creating value for generations, and one way we do this is by extending hope, compassion, and support to our people. Our CEO further noted that acts of charity during Ramadan represent a powerful way to honour the spiritual significance of the season. She added that through such initiatives, the UNOC hopes to uplift communities while also seeking blessings and reward through Allah for supporting those in need. This spirit of giving reflects UNOC’s broader values of responsibility, service, and care for society. The First Deputy Mufti further noted that charity is among the most important practices during Ramadan, symbolizing compassion, unity, and care for others. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between institutions and faith leaders in promoting unity, compassion, and support for communities during Ramadan. Through such partnerships, organisations like the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) continue to demonstrate that development and community care can move forward together for the benefit of all.

In response, the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), in partnership with the Uganda Wildlife Authority (@ugwildlife) and the Ministry of Water and Environment (@min_waterUg) is developing a nature-based carbon offsets project around Mount Elgon National Park. The initiative aims to plant 40 million trees within and around the Mt. Elgon ecosystem, restoring degraded landscapes, protecting water catchment areas, enhancing biodiversity, and strengthening climate resilience for surrounding communities.

UNOC, in partnership with TASO Masindi and district health teams, is conducting free HIV/AIDS awareness and health camps across the Albertine region. The outreach covers HIV testing and counselling, screening for cervical and prostate cancer, hepatitis B, diabetes and hypertension, plus general health education. The camps are running from 25 to 27 November in Runga, Waki and Kabolwa.
