Yes. As the church submits to Christ, so is everything to be done in order. Women were not given the responsibility to lead in the church. They are not to have authority over a man. They are to be life long learners. If they have questions they are to ask their husbands at home. It's easy to dismiss Paul's instructions for the church as misogyny but God’s design protects women from the burden of ultimate accountability for the flock (James 3:1) and and allows the church to reflect the beauty of complementary sexes working together. Christianity elevates women as co-heirs (1 Peter 3:7), treasures, and essential partners. The early church was revolutionary in its honor of women compared to Rome or Greece. Rejecting this teaching doesn’t make us more loving—it makes us wiser than God. When we say, “I know better than 1 Timothy 2,” we’re undermining the authority of Scripture itself.

God commands husbands to be the head (leader) of the wife. He commands the leaders in the churches to be “the husband of one wife.” He created Adam first. He named all of the animals and was held responsible when Eve sinned. All of the Kings, Patriarchs, Major and Minor Prophets, Judges (except Deborah who urged Barak to lead), authors of every book in the Bible, John the Baptist (forerunner of Christ), Christ, His 12 Apostles, Elders, Deacons = ALL men. His will is clear. As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. (Is 3:12)

Children can rebel on their own no matter how godly of a childhood you gave them. They have the freedom to choose to live in obedience to the Lord or disobedience. Pray diligently for your prodigal children. Pray the seeds of truth you planted in their childhood will grow deep roots and begin producing beautiful fruit.

Early writers like Tertullian and Epiphanius of Salamis explicitly condemned certain heretical sects (such as the Marcionites or Montanists) specifically because they allowed women to perform priestly or episcopal functions, viewing this as a violation of the apostolic order.

God didn’t create us to preach or be pastors. We don’t have the low, strong voices that men have. He didn’t create us to lead either. We’re more easily deceived like Eve was. He created us to bear, nurse, and nurture children while making our homes lovely for our families.
