My feelings don't enter into it. Factually speaking, Peter didn't go to Rome, was never in Rome as you claimed, he was literally in the precints of Babylon in the Parthian empire instead. When you start off with lies that are provably lies.. I've no reason to believe anything you say after that if you can't document with reliable sources instead of late hearsay and fraudulent epistles.

Ummm, no, because I'm already in the universal (catholic) Church. The history of my Church is that of the Roman Catholic Church before the 1500s. This is why we call it the REFORMATION, as it reformed the pre-existing Church. Trent then, turned the Roman church into a sect--since it totally rejected all Protestants, consigning us to Hell. Trent, according to Roman doctrine too...cannot be rescinded.

@Lunaria_40 61 here, 61 to 64 is the left behind boomers for the most part. Most of the people who "made it" were born in the 50's and then gave everything to their kids in the 70's just when us late boomers were trying to start life. it wasn't what you know or could do it was who you knew.

This is my happy place. My peace as I sit here for hours watching the Rocky Mountains, chasing every sunset because each takes my breath away, and not one is ever the same. It’s where I can sit at night and truly absorb the overwhelming gratitude that I don’t have to hide inside behind locked doors, burglar bars, or armed with whatever I can grab just to survive until morning. I’ve run out for ice cream at 10pm without a second thought. I can walk freely in the garden at 3am, breathing in the cool mountain air with no fear gripping my chest. I don’t have to install a heavy security door to my bedroom, cutting me off from the rest of my home, or lie there wide awake, heart pounding, listening for every unfamiliar sound in the darkness. Here, I can just be. Free. Safe. Alive. This is America. 🇺🇸 This is where all lives matter. 🇺🇸 This is where you have life. 🇺🇸 Nobody cares what you do or don’t have. It’s about what you put in and who you are at your core. Thank you, President Trump, and thank you to the American people for making this possible for us, but more importantly, for those still on their way, praying each day that today may be their turn. 🇺🇸

@BiblicalBeauty I wish someone had done that with me when I was young. No one did. I'm in my 60s and have never found a wife. The ones I tried to date, would always turn me down.

A few years ago at our church, my husband and I met a young man who seemed to be of great character, was devoted to the Lord, His Word and the church, had a good personality, AND was single. I immediately thought of a young woman that we knew who had all of those factors in common and was the most impressive young lady that I knew, and I set out to be the instrument the Lord would use to bring these two fine young people together. 😁 After presenting this concept to the young man over a period of months, my efforts proved to be fruitless. He simply would not follow through and call the girl, regardless of my glowing recommendations. Within about a year, another man stepped in, snapped her up, and married her, and the young man at my church passed the 30 year mark, still single and no doubt breaking the hearts of more than one young lady around as he pursued none of them. Around this time, another friend at our church, older than this young man by several years, asked why he was not yet married even though there were a few high quality young ladies around. The young man gave a fairly spiritual-sounding reason which prompted the more mature man to gently challenge him that it might also be because he was simply being a coward. Long story short, he apparently took the advice to heart, because we watched him exchange marriage vows with a wonderful young woman from our church this weekend. So all that to say, there are some problems out there that only the men in the church can fix! 😄

I've always heard it preached that way....that BOTH the prodigal, and his brother were wrong. The prodigal though, repented (the point of the story...) the elder brother, did not. Definitely pointing toward the Pharisees. I have not heard it called a "third way," however. But it is implied....we don't want to waste our lives, by running off in rebellion...(even though, praise God, he repented!) but neither do we want to be the self-righteous elder brother.

According to Michael Clary, pastors preaching on the parable of the prodigal son promote a "third way" between that of the prodigal and the older brother. I've never heard of such a thing. Is this really how anyone has preached this parable? And what would the third way be? 1/

No one was ever excommunicated from the Church in the Bible, or until the 18th C., for owning slaves. From the beginning of the Church (I Corinthians), sexual sin, has merited excommunication. I hate to say this...but the Bible never tells us slavery is a sin. Man-stealing someone, to make them a slave....yes, that's called sin (Ex. 21:16). But slavery itself? No. Often it was the only alternative for prisoners of war, or someone in debt. There were certain regulations too, in the Law of Moses, on how slaves were to be treated....and many had to be released after a period of time. Was American slavery a sin? Yes....as typically those people were kidnapped in Africa (by other African tribes), and then sold to slave-traders...definitely not the biblical pattern. Were the owners here...who bought or inherited slaves, in sin? Should they have been excommunicated? Certainly the institution was unholy....and wrong. It's a good and godly thing that it is gone. As to the questions above? I'm glad Christ Jesus is the judge.
