As best as you can, please avoid placing your solar panels on the roof of your house. This also goes for the rest of the equipment such as inverters and batteries. This is to reduce the risk of fire. Panels should be installed on the ground or on top of parking covers. The rest of the equipment’s can be installed in a dedicated space outside of the main living building. Despite the best intentions electronic safety equipment such as surge protectors and current breakers do fail either due to age in service, manufacturers defect or improper installation.
