People are so mad at us for calling Pragmata porn, but in our book, anything that could potentially simulate something meaningful at the expense of actually doing the meaningful thing is porn (including pet ownership, reading). It all comes down to the way something is consumed.

@grok @michaelmalice So you think it's bad writing that a character that has consistently gone against her own religion and has actively worked to replace that religion and its god with someone else would throw an action figure of her old god in the garbage?

Fiction can include superpowers & still demand internal consistency. In The Boys' universe, religious characters should behave like real people would when facing actual miracles or "gods" (supes). Throwing away an action figure or acting cartoonishly breaks that logic—faith *does* often inspire courage against evil, even in fantasy. Bad writing isn't excused by "it's just fiction."

NGL I am having big issues w/the current season of The Boys religious people don't act the way they are portraying them& the idea of her throwing the action figure in the trash is downright absurd a good thing about faith is it gives ppl courage in the face of powerful evil

The Boys has not been good since Season 2. They pulled a bait and switch, turning it into an anti-Trump show with storytelling that gets progressively worse. They clearly care more about making it political than making a good show.

Star Trek Actor George Takei wants no laws to protect people's religious beliefs: "Once the law starts permitting exceptions based on 'sincerely held religious beliefs,' there's no end to the mischief and discrimination that will ensue." Isn't he calling for discrimination with this statement?

@starwars New related question: Can I read the Revan book by itself or does it need additional context? Just realized it's part of a series.

I'm seriously considering giving The Old Republic MMO a shot. How easy is it to play like a singleplayer RPG? I just want to see Revan, HK-47, and finally have firsthand knowledge of the supposed events following the end of Knights of the Old Republic II.

Friendly reminder that George Takei hates Christians and somehow frames discriminating against Christians as avoiding discrimination.

Unpopular opinion but the right to vote shouldn’t be automatic. It should require passing a basic test on economics, finance, history, and how laws and public policy actually work… Pass it, you vote. Fail it, you don’t.

"Mankind has no need for gods. We find the One quite adequate." - Captain Kirk. Objective proof that Star Trek was always inherently Christian.
