California law enforcement can—and does—enforce criminal laws against anyone engaged in criminal conduct, regardless of immigration status.
California child welfare agencies can—and do—work with law enforcement to ensure the welfare of children in our state.
SB 54 is designed to increase trust between law enforcement and California communities to enhance public safety. No amount of misinformation will change that.

We asked the California DOJ a simple question: If a child is being sex-trafficked by an illegal alien in our town, can law enforcement at least do a welfare check? The answer was no. That would violate SB-54. No explanation for how you save that child. California's sanctuary law prevents police from talking to ICE or Border Patrol, even when a dangerous person is in our community. It puts residents in danger and children at risk. No policy should ever put protecting illegal immigrants above protecting children.

The Trump Admin has made it clear that its allegiance lies with protecting corporate donors, not invigorating our economy, not fueling competition, not protecting workers and American families.
The President seems to be more concerned with helping his rich friends get richer rather than helping bring costs down for the American people — this is not consistent with California’s values.

A statue of Christopher Columbus was quietly installed on the White House grounds over the weekend.
The replica statue of the explorer now stands outside the Eisenhower Executive Office Building adjacent to the White House itself. The original was toppled and tossed into Baltimore's Inner Harbor during the 2020 racial justice protests following the death of George Floyd.
Other statues of Columbus were taken down at the height of those protests for his role in colonization. The White House has called Columbus a "hero."
