Why women wait to report: a coworker once put his hand up the back of my blouse at a work happy hour and touched my bare skin. Later I found out he did similar things to 3 other women that night. None of us wanted to report him. HR had a bad reputation. And women know what often happens when you come forward: you’re the problem. You’re “difficult.” Maybe you “misread it.” Maybe you “encouraged it.” HR is there to protect the company - not employees. Then we found out he was applying to manage a department with several women. That changed everything. We talked and agreed we could not let women end up reporting to him without HR knowing what he had done. So we went. If he had not been up for that promotion, we probably wouldn't have. That is how hard it is to come forward. People come forward when they feel safe enough, or when they believe staying silent could let someone else get hurt.

This is the same PM who said the Air Canada CEO’s English-only condolence video showed “a lack of judgment and compassion.” The same PM who said Air Canada has “a responsibility to communicate in both official languages, regardless of the situation.” I called his office an hour ago: THEY QUIETLY SWITCHED IT TO FRENCH. I HAVE RECEIPTS. This same Parliament voted three years ago NOT to require the Air Canada CEO to speak French. Only the Bloc voted for it. They chose not to make it mandatory. Then summoned the CEO for not doing it. Two pilots are dead. A fire truck with no transponder on an active runway & one controller doing two jobs. @li252708 @RonWaxman The pilot did see the truck and said Stop stop stop on radio to ATC ... and immediately began braking hard, making a loud noise in cabin. Slowed from 151 mph to 24 mph but it wasn't enough.

Important note regarding the accident at LaGuardia Airport. United 2384 wanted to return to gate. Odor in back of plane. Pilot couldn’t raise anyone at United to help get him a gate. Air traffic controller tried to help. There were no gates. Pilot asked for fire truck. 1/2
