@stokecity I’m an Asian Stoke City fan, and the foreign fans I know feel the new badge focuses more on Stoke’s local heritage in a retro style, but lacks modern appeal. I’d rather keep the current badge and, like Sunderland, use the new one only on away kits.

Stoke City will have a new Club Crest from the 26/27 season after our fans voted in favour of change. Inspired by the badge of 77-92 by popular demand, with a modernised take on the design, the new identity was ratified by a majority of 68% to 32%.

I did play with the fetty cross and wanted to stay true to the previous emblems but it just felt too busy. The design is already pretty busy imo so the cross was as close I could do.

Moving the staffs knot from top meant something had to give and I really liked how it ties the quadrants together as a county does. There may be ways to implement it in future. Just becomes very busy in an already busy design with it

@SCFCJosh96 Can agree with this. The bits at the top are supposed to be boar tusks as a representation of Stoke -upon-Trent from the legacy badges. Really wanted to get all the 6 towns of Stoke in there but the massive word Stoke probably does that just fine

Would probably get rid of the year and the bits to the sides of our name at the top. But other than that.

@adamsrt11 Most likely too late yeah. But you never know, if it gets traction, conversation might perk up at least. It’s def not a finished article, embroidering such small details probably wouldn’t be feasible tbh. I just like the concept of merging old and new badges.

I did try adding in gold to stay true to the legacy badges but I felt it was a bit too much on an already busy piece. Always room for improvement though

But, I feel like it needs a little more of something to really make it pop, maybe a touch of gold on it somewhere but I do prefer it a lot more than the new one

Tbh my main goal of doing this is to just re-think the suggested badge. Get a highly rated design studio, local if possible but not necessary, to have a proper go would be the dream

My brief was to refresh an old emblem whilst merging it with our modern / current emblem design which holds its own history. I’m happy with the result but def can be improved 😊

The quote marks are boar tusks representing Stoke-upon-Trent from the 53-57 badge. It's hard to fit all 6 towns represention in but that was the solution.
