US Ambassador to Tรผrkiye Tom Barrack: The question on S-400sโฆ For those of you who donโt know, Tรผrkiye, after the coup, bought a Russian defense system. There was a variance in opinionโwere we not willing to sell them Patriots, or could they not buy Patriots, but they bought an S-400 system. At the time, Tรผrkiye was also the second-largest NATO ally. This is huge. When you think of what that means and what Tรผrkiye is doing to protect Europe, itโs incredible. They wanted to contribute to the F-35 jet program and, as a matter of fact, were a partner in manufacturing fuselages. When they bought the S-400, Congress then imposed sanctions. Sanctionsโฆ in my humble opinionโฆ they donโt work. The sanctioned country becomes so smart, so ingenious, they figure out ways around them. They went off the F-35 system. President Trump and President Erdoganโฆ sat down. Halkbank is now fine. F-16s โ renegotiating again. The allianceโฆ is being rebuilt. I think youโre going to see this S-400 situation solved soon. From my bossโs point of view, acceptance into an F-35 program is fine. Greece has S-300s and F-35s. So, that the the Greece-Tรผrkiye issue is you know, another historic issue. I won't even attempt to get there because they'll they'll forbid me to ever go to Mykonos again.

Hey @S_Fitzpatrick I was Kash Patelโs Sherpa on the transition. I spent nearly all day everyday with him for 3+ months and have been with him frequently since. I have never seen the type of behavior that youโre describing from him. Your anon sourced story is BS. Oh and by the way, it was no pressure campaign that got Kash confirmed. He did his homework, studied every brief I wrote him (and I wrote them all personally). If I sent him material at say 2am, he would respond with questions by 3am. He was always available and never hard to reach. Ultimately, he addressed any concerns senators had. He studied the law enforcement issues in each of their states and came prepared with plans, ideas, and questions for addressing the unique law enforcement needs of each state. THAT is who Kash Patel is and itโs why the FBI has been so effective in the last year. Iโve never once seen him over drink. Not once. You are spinning that narrative because you know POTUS doesnโt view that favorably, even admitted as much in your story. And Iโm not hard to find. Pretty obvious why you didnโt reach out to me for comment.

Memo to the fake news - the only time Iโll ever actually be concerned about the hit piece lies you write about me will be when you stop. Keep talking, it means Iโm doing exactly what I should be doing. And no amount of BS you write will ever deter this FBI from making America safe again and taking down the criminals you love.
