Here is part VI of my series of tutorials on ODEs and SDEs in machine learning for @RBCBorealis. rbcborealis.com/research-blogs… To solve SDEs we must integrate the noise term and to this end, we develop the stochastic integral. It's solution is a stochastic process with mean zero.

@SimonPrinceAI Hello, I started checking out your notebooks from udlbook.github.io/udlbook/. I was wondering if there are "answers" to the questions post in the notebooks. I do not feel completely comfortable using LLMs to answer the questions.

@jxmnop pointless to write a textbook in deep learning the past 5 years, it will be outdated by the time it's finished.

crazy to me that the one seminal textbook on Deep Learning was written in 2015. ten years ago. before we invented transformers, pretraining, RLHF, reasoning, diffusion, MOEs... i think AI researchers these days may be too busy to write textbooks. but we need a new one, badly

@wondering_camel @jxmnop Definitely more up to date than Goodfellow! Chat GPT and so RHLF came out 1 month before my publishing deadline so only mentioned in passing. Blogs about them though via the book website. MoE is a very old idea...

@_yangdf The @SimonPrinceAI DL book (the one I use as a stand for iPad charging) is by far the best one for learning neural networks. Reads like a novel!

I tried. 4 years ago I decided to leave Apple ecosystem. I used to get iMacs but they downgraded them to 24 inches and I was skeptical of Apple silicon and lack of CUDA for my experiments. Now I’m back home! M4Max felt like an optimal choice, 128Gb ram should be enough to play with local LLMs.
