For the people that are criticizing vtubers being political or not: this is not a matter of politics, but human rights. Wanting to feel safe because of identity, sexual orientation, background and ancestry is not being political, but a necessity of safety and wanting to live a normal life, just like the rest. I've always said this since I started vtubing (around 2021 and 2022) and way before that, I've always been really vocal about my beliefs, and if you have any other beliefs besides mine, that's up to you. Why watch and follow me knowing that I am what you hate? That's why I don't want to be associated with you at all, so not only I feel safe, but also my community can too. Just ignore me and continue with you life! That's what I choose, to ignore you, block and/or ban you if you come my way, and to do my thing, doing what I enjoy and love and surrounding myself with people that love me and don't want me dead in a ditch because of my background. 🤍

TLDR: Artists are way too comfortable ghosting their paying clients and walk away with little to no consequence. I don't know what it is about the vtubing space but the amount of unprofessional artists is kind of ridiculous. If you are unable to meet deadlines or end up ghosting your clients due to something coming up or if you simply just do not vibe with a project, COMMUNICATE THAT AT THE VERY LEAST! I have been ghosted more times in the past few months by artists and editors than I ever have before, and a lot of these are people I have already worked with in the past. The problem is the lack of consequence in freelance work, but if you are unable to communicate with your clients then don't be surprised when you get hit with a chargeback. I understand that the idea of making your own schedule and earning money through your skills and passions is an incredibly appealing thought but at the end of the day it's still work, you are providing a service so the very least you can do is proactively send updates AND STICK TO YOUR DEADLINES! And if you can't, LET YOUR CLIENT KNOW THAT!! Half the reason why I started learning to do so much myself is because I don't want to have to deal with the amount of unprofessionalism in freelance but I am only one person that also works a full time job so there is only so much I can do.
