One of the biggest ironies about the modern Democratic Party is its attempt to monopolize a phrase (Our Democracy) that it actively stands against. The Democratic Party is actually one of the most anti-Democratic forces to have ever existed.
Democracy rests on the rulers and the ruled recognizing each other as belonging to the same pre-political “we”. They have to see themselves as sharing a linked fate.
In a democracy, losing an election isn’t the end of the world because the people who beat you are still *your people*. They may be wrong. They may even be idiots. But they are YOUR idiots. They’re still bound up in the same destiny as you are.
That is not how the modern Democratic Party sees the country. Despite its name, it isn’t a democratic party at all. It’s a liberal managerial party that sees democracy as an obstacle, even as it invokes the word “Our Democracy” to justify their relentless assault on a unified American identity.

I have empathy for white males who, two decades ago, could be born into bad conditions, study hard, and get into a state university for low-tuition. Or find a good job out of high school. This empathy "does not count" according to those who preach the false gospel of Empathy.

Empathycels are reliably the most stupid and unempathetic people in practice because their idea of empathy is something like “only for those I already agree with or it’s socially acceptable to support” when by definition it must be the opposite or it doesn’t count (ie Lena Dunham, a liberal pro-choice feminist, writing a scene in Girls where you empathize more with the guy whose baby got aborted vs with the girl who got the abortion). Having “empathy for immigrants,” in this case, means indulging all of their narratives and demands at the expense of everyone else, who you’re not allowed to empathize with because it’s not socially approved. Anything short of that is apparently deeming the entire lot of them “unworthy.” Really, when people say you display insufficient empathy for immigrants or women claiming to be rape and abuse victims whatever other untouchable big tent group, what they mean is, you’re making me feel bad.

My wife was 22 and I was 23 when we married. We eventually had 8 children.
Our 20s were marked by Boomer generation “advisors” at the grocery store, events, restaurants, and stores WARNING us not to have more children. They openly pitied us for having 3+ children. Boomer women thought my wife was being oppressed by her husband. At an Outback, a man openly told me “I feel sorry for you for having those kids.”
Many Boomers were brainwashed to perceive having children “as a bad thing.” Worst of all, they felt empowered to insult a young couple in the presence of our children.
Meanwhile, these people were in favor of importing the entire Third World into America for the sake of GDP. What a strange moment in American history.

I am 51 and deeply regret not having kids. I was stringently brainwashed into believing that I should never have children. I’ve never even been pregnant as far as I know. I was on birth control from age 16 through age 49.

@nosoup4knowles Might be unhinged but the cops do it all the time. They interview family members, classmates, ex boyfriends, look at her schedule and any personal information past or present to dismiss her as a suspect. Close it out and look elsewhere.

Karen always likes to talk about HER experience and never YOUR experience in her city…stepping over homeless drug addicts having your, business tagged up every night, no street lights. If she is so experienced with governance, why is she so bad at governance? What does that say about all of her illustrious experience? I actually care more about YOUR daily experience in LA. I have all the experience that I need. I have experienced the consequences of Karen Bass’ failed leadership. All of us have. She needs to step aside.

Sometimes to have a chuckle I quietly think to myself about 'climate,' how they got everyone so worked up ('Have children?? You think we should bring children into the world when it just keeps getting HOTTER??'), and then how all of a sudden 'climate' just disappeared as an issue (coincidentally when it became apparent AI data centers needed a lot of energy). It's very funny, the whole thing is very funny, it never made in any sense, you really can get people to do and believe anything.
