If we accept the premise that money spent on science "should" go to public works, we are a) accepting the billions for wars of aggression and the war on immigrants, and b) sabotaging what little scientific research is still publicly supported. Science is required for progress.

@peterdaou Because some people who are rich or well-to-do are not bothered by exploitation and war. They think it is not their problem and therefore insist on preserving the status quo. It is not that they cannot understand. Rather, they do not want to understand.

BOTH ruling parties are war parties that serve their ultra wealthy donors. Why is that so hard for some people to understand?
