Trench Technician course at Vaughan Fire. Extensive classroom theory followed by REAL collapses with active soil conditions, including a difficult “Repair Hole” with cross shoring. Difficult patient access and removal. @ff4vaughan @VaughanFire & @RHFES

SOCC is an official training partner @Paratech_Inc at #fdic

FIRE SERVICE RIGGING SAFETY Do your rescuers know the standards applicable to this equipment? OSHA…THIS IS LAW! ASME- Standards by Mech Engineers…This is like NFPA ANSI-Standards Institute oversees development of voluntary consensus standards

EV’S——HEAVY, FAST, LOW CENTER OF GRAVITY. Structural Collapse runs are going to continue to go up in numbers!! Crumple zones in other cars and are no match either. #vehiclerescue #autoextrication #firefighter #paramedic #flightparamedic #universityofnebraska @Paratech_Inc

"Tenting Roof" Rapid Extrication of the unstable patient means less time on scene, quicker arrival to Trauma Centre.

Roof removal when it unnecessary is a very amateur point of focus. Taking the roof/removing glass that doesn’t need to be is a hallmark of training on cars without a dent in them (it exposes patients to cold, which kills trauma patients). Use rams, cut the seats, get them moving

Last week, St. Michael's Hospital became one of a small number of hospitals outside of the U.S. to be verified as a Level 1 Trauma Centre by the @AmCollSurgeons. Take a behind-the-scenes look at how the hospital prepared for the verification process: bit.ly/3H46w3X

Trench Rescue Tactical Worksheets. High Risk/Low Frequency incidents are easier handled utilizing these. Requesting the correct resources early will happen when you follow these. DM for PDF Version. #firefighter #Feuerwehr #technicalrescue #trenchrescue

Whether it’s from your training or wearing your PPE, firefighters need to be ready for the fight. Mike Ciampo offers some encouragement. fireengineering.com/health-safety/…

“We don’t need to know Tow Truck Driver stuff. That’s not our job.” Learn to calculate the forces involved in moving this truck off the trapped patients…Gradient, Surface Resistance, Weight Transfer, etc “Heavy Rigging for the Fire Service” addresses all of these and way more
