@ishapiro It’s asinine to claim that a factual story is “discredited” because you didn’t like some detail about the storyteller.
English

@TimSlagle This is on display at a hotel in Mexico City. And the hotel provided the car. So, if anything, this seems like free market exchange of goods and services.
I guess we can eliminate NEA if more hotels start commissioning artists.
Maybe Hyatt can spring for a stand-up show or two.
English

So this "Art" piece cost about $100k to construct? Where do you think he got the money to do that?
It stands as a great metaphor of the reason we need to eliminate NEA grants.

@ActaeonComplex Ridiculous? Like absurd? Over the top? Kinda like… How jokes are written?
Like some kinda ‘ridiculous’ exaggeration?
Thanks for playing.
English

@StoutRyan Well I’m not one to block people. And you keep coming up in my feed. And what you’re saying is so disconnected from reality that it seems like it has to be a bot intentionally set on creating divisiveness.
Sorry…I see ridiculous and there’s a reflex response…
English

@ActaeonComplex Okay. For real. I don’t know you. And I find your cryptic little comments obnoxious.
Thanks for seeing me at The Punch Line two decades ago.
English

@StoutRyan Okay for real…your account was taken over by a bot, wasn’t it?
English

@ActaeonComplex You aren’t giving ANY details about ANY specific “riots” where “Team Far-Left” didn’t “get its way.”
I’m responding to the ambiguous information you are providing— None of which, so far, has related to the original topic of my first post.
English

@StoutRyan I’m so confused. I mean, I’ve seen your set. I know you’re an astute observer of the world. But it’s like you’ve been method acting for a Bio-dome remake by locking yourself in a hole for the past 30 years and are totally unaware of constant protests from the progressive left.
English

@ActaeonComplex I can’t say for sure without examples. But, I can say they weren’t wearing “Joe Biden 2020” t-shirts.
So, whatever ideology you’re referring to isn’t going to translate 1:1 with political affiliation.
Maybe some were Green Party or Socialist, but you can’t assume “Democrat.”
English

@StoutRyan Were there participants in the 2020 riots (destruction of property and physical violence, not protests) who you would say were *not* associated with a far-left, “progressive” ideology?
English

@ActaeonComplex I’m not playing games— I’m asking for specifics.
For example, if you were to suggest that the George Floyd protests were examples of “riots in the streets if Team Far-Left doesn’t get its way,” there are clear reasons why that description isn’t accurate.
English

@StoutRyan Acting like you don’t recall violent riots in multiple US cities in ‘20 seems so intentionally obtuse that I assume it’s some kind of gamesmanship. I choose not to play.
If you really can’t picture “progressive” archetypes responding maniacally to a DJT win, I admire your bliss.
English

@ActaeonComplex Well, it’s not objective because I’m not certain what 2020 riot(s) you are referring to by “Team Far Left.” So, that non-specific description makes it seem non-objective. Please give me an example.
English

@StoutRyan Not objective? How so?
Haven’t both sides kinda shown their MO by now?
The right likes to think they think…then they overthink…so maybe they’ll protest if they “have proof” etc.
But the left is all impulsive emotion. They’ll just freak out and riot if they’re triggered.
English

@ActaeonComplex Your description of “2020-esque riots in the streets if Team Far-Left doesn’t get its way” is not an objective description.
As such, any video is probably just as subjective…
So, to answer your question:
No.
English

@StoutRyan So you can’t imagine 2020-esque riots in the streets if Team Far-Left doesn’t get its way?
I mean, there’s video…
English

@ActaeonComplex For sure. 100%.
But, regardless of where registration occurs, that process still requires a driver’s license number, ID card number, or SSN.
New voters who can’t provide that at registration need to show ID when they vote.
And ID is still required for 1st-time-voters.
English

@StoutRyan You *can* register to vote at the DMV.
You can also register to vote on an ironing board popped up in front of a Safeway, and you don’t need to show the the volunteer your ID, nor ever, and to accommodate the homeless you can list your address as a street corner.
English

@GroundedReason @wkamaubell If it’s funny, the few complainers are OFTEN ignored... But, not always.
Sometimes their complaints go viral and people who don’t know the comedian and didn’t see the show will escalate the controversy. As a result, the comedian faces “consequences.”
English

@StoutRyan @wkamaubell If it's funny, then the few complainers usually get ignored. Bill Burr went off on women on SNL and it was celebrated because it was hilarious
English

@RealTxzen @wkamaubell True.
But, from a strictly comedy standpoint, we can’t pretend that the comedian who gets huge laughs in front of the white supremacists and the comedian who bombs in front of the white supremacists are comedically equal.
(Morality, of course, is a different issue.)
English

@wkamaubell @StoutRyan You can't just point to an audience of white supremacists to say that all the minority denigrating jokes worked, "so you got away with it".
English

@wkamaubell @mokecule Also, for the record, the video of this conversation between Jeselnik & Theo existed in its own context before any events of the past few days.
I responded to the original content of the clip.
Trying to saddle me with any current events is deceptive, incorrect, and pernicious.
English

@wkamaubell @mokecule And, for the record, that context was not specified within the thread.
English

@mokecule I was talking to my friend about this clip. The only thing that offends me is the attempt to pretend that I’m defending some other event when it wasn’t even mentioned.
