My new chapter: I’ve joined @Subzero_Labs to help build @RialoHQ. I spent my years in crypto working closely with top protocols as Head of Research @panteracapital and before that as Senior Mechanism Design @blockscience. But at the beginning of this year I made the jump to join SZL as Chief Economist. An opportunity to build what our space needs from the ground up is rare and I couldn’t be more thrilled to help support the vision along side the incredible founders and team. The Bet: There are only two strategies: bundle or unbundle. Rialo picked “bundle” at the right time, the right team, and the right vision. The tech is now there to solve fragmentation, ranging from off-chain services to web2 walled gardens. Expect to See: — Supermodular Design. Rialo integrates components that want to be integrated. — App-killing Double Marginalization as a distant memory. — End-to-end efficiency, beyond bumper sticker numbers — First principles design for a vibrant ecosystem and economy — Long‑term incentive alignment for stakeholders Why @RialoHQ Rialo doesn’t just talk. It ships. The first feature we announced had been shipped for weeks, and the tweet was literally a phone recording of the application running on our devnet. You’ll see plenty of research, mechanism design, and technical content out of our stacked research team, but on Rialo research is a positive externality of building.

Excited to finally share about my role at @Subzero_Labs after my time at @Apple. I'm helping build @RialoHQ, a network that I've wanted to create for a very long time. Why @RialoHQ? I believe networks should be easier to use and more accessible for everyone. The @RialoHQ network is a thought leading project that is truly focused on developer experience. And that’s because @RialoHQ design is underpinned by the core belief that Web2 apps are the doorway for crypto. We're building a network that supports high‑throughput, low‑latency web3 applications while staying securely connected to the outside world - without brittle, complicated third‑party dependencies and infrastructure. I joined @Subzero_Labs in the early days giving me the opportunity to help shape the architecture and tech stack. I've been able to help build and design the core components of the @RialoHQ network. Today, I'm working with a talented team to create the core of @RialoHQ. I get to lead one of the two core teams, the protocol team, and get to focus on areas I'm passionate about: Consensus protocols, network state propagation and discovery, storage, execution, and many other areas. Plus, I get to participate and lead ongoing research to push cutting‑edge ideas into the next generation of network infrastructure. I'm thrilled about what's ahead and I'll share more as we go.
