Spent time on the family farm this weekend. Mom worked with @USDA_NRCS to turn this 600ac parcel into the largest wetland conservation in the PNW. My family bought this land in 1930 for $11/acre. Sometimes mom will bail @usdaorganics hay. Now, she’s resting the land for habitat.

Kindergarten in a pandemic with raging wildfires and no natural sunlight. Having lived in the Bay Area my whole life I have never seen record temperatures and fires raging like this. Climate change is a real thing.

Today I’m so proud but also a little sad: @TessaIrvine1 started working in our lab THREE years ago as a soph in high school. Now, she’s off to spread her wings at @alleghenycol. She’s SO dedicated, organized (I mean look at those samples 😍), kind, hilarious, and professional.
