@agraybee wait, no, apparently he died in 2021, a year after running for president on the democratic side
he was also 90 at the time
English

@agraybee oh no
it's time for Mike Gravel to return
English

Deep down, we all know who is best equipped to do this. We know who the most belligerent Democrat is. Look into your heart and accept the answer.
Olivia Julianna 🇺🇸🦅🗳️@0liviajulianna
I firmly believe 80% of the Democratic parties problems could be solved by just being as mean as possible when running campaigns. Americans like people who talk shit
English

@thought_less_ @josiah_wampfler @mkerekes714 @HeerJeet I would be more sympathetic if I hadn't spent years living on $15k, and now make just above the median income living in a 1 bedroom with a roommate.
Like literally, the problem is not the economy.
English

1. Chuck Schumer explaining Dem strategy in 2016: “For every blue-collar Democrat we lose in western Pennsylvania, we will pick up two moderate Republicans in the suburbs in Philadelphia, and you can repeat that in Ohio and Illinois and Wisconsin." 2. The Harris campaign literally let Wall Street donors shape their economic policies & messaging, making plutocrat Mark Cuban one of their main surrogates nytimes.com/2024/10/14/bus…

Bernie Sanders says Democrats lost because they abandoned the working class. As is so often the case, Bernie Sanders is wrong msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-…

@scarylawyerguy measles.
It's almost always measles. And there have already been outbreaks in previous years from low vax areas.
English

Them: WE WANT A BIG TENT!
Democrats: *make a big tent from Dick Cheney to Bernie Sanders*
Them: NOT LIKE THAT! MAKE IT DIFFERENT!
Michael J. Stern@MichaelJStern1
Now people are complaining that Liz Cheney campaigning for Harris was a mistake. Soon Harris will be blamed for accepting endorsements from Trump's Cabinet. At some point we must come to terms with the harsh reality that half the country sees America very differently than us.
English

@MaesterDepot @HeerJeet it went up 12.1% since 2022, that's true.
the population of the US is 335,893,238.
You're saying the entire economy is based on what .1% of the people in it are going through?
English

@SymposiumSilver @HeerJeet Tell that to the 650k living in the streets, sociopath
English

@MaesterDepot @HeerJeet You're claiming that the ENTIRE ECONOMY is made up of people making 20k a year. You're full of shit.
Also, the economy GREW at 4% due to CONSUMER SPENDING.
People have never spent more on things they don't need!
English

@MaesterDepot @HeerJeet statista.com/statistics/204…
Gas prices are up from 2020, down from 2022.
The economy IS doing well.

English

@MaesterDepot @HeerJeet That's literally not true. At all.
Wages are not stagnant. They grew the most over the past four years due to labor shocks. Housing is up because rates are down so more people borrow money to buy homes, decreasing supply. Food and gas are at their lowest levels in years.
English

@SymposiumSilver @HeerJeet Every metric a normal person who works everyday would use to gage how the economy is doing. Wages are stagnant, the cost of housing is up, inflation is up, the cost of food and gas is up, evictions are up, bankruptcies are up, the homeless population is exploding--
English

@LikeAPhoenician @HeerJeet Okay, so give me ONE METRIC by which people are worse off? Not vibes, a metric! something ACTIONABLE.
Because otherwise you're going to get like 10% unemployment to crush demand to crush inflation with no safety net, because that's how you crush prices.
English

@SymposiumSilver @HeerJeet Great! Stick with this strategy of telling struggling people that they are stupid for thinking things are not great for them! Shove graphs in their faces and call them retards! Learn nothing!
English

@LikeAPhoenician @HeerJeet Of course they caused inflation!
If you give people more money, they will spend it, shrinking the amount of goods and increasing the price due to scarcity. That's how economics works.
The economy IS great, by every objective metric.
English

@SymposiumSilver @HeerJeet They didn't cause inflation you dumb sucker. And why are we moving on to what I thought would last? The topic at hand is why would working class people not think the economy is great, and I just explained it clearly and you simply refuse to accept it. Charlatan.
English

@josiah_wampfler @mkerekes714 @HeerJeet Genuinely, if you find a place no one wants to rent, rents go down.
But you don't want to live in those places!
English

@josiah_wampfler @mkerekes714 @HeerJeet Bro I live in a 1 bedroom on 1099 pay for like 40k a year. I get it.
But guess what? Rent always goes up! Especially for long term tenants and in growing areas because there is more competition!
that's actually a sign the economy is good!
English

@SymposiumSilver @mkerekes714 @HeerJeet Yeah and it was much higher for months and months. Just because it is down doesn't mean prices fell! And for many Americans, wages didn't keep pace.
English

@LikeAPhoenician @HeerJeet Yes, because covid ended. Did you expect those to last forever?
You realize those cause inflation, right?
English

@SymposiumSilver @HeerJeet Is this a joke? You wanna strut around like the wonk master and you don't know about all the covid programs ending? Oh, and yeah turns out "we can't do good things because the SC we refuse to pack said no, maybe after we win 4 elections in a row we might" doesn't work either.
English
