Did George H.W. Bush play a role in the JFK assassination? No, he did not. However, like every other American intelligence asset with knowledge of the CIA's highly classified operations in Cuba (e.g. assassinations), he was required to stay quiet about everything he knew. And he knew a lot. In fact, though it sounds absurd, the JFK assassination put Bush in roughly the same predicament that Bobby Kennedy found himself in. (Read on.) On the day of the JFK assassination, The CIA was using Lee Oswald in a Bobby Kennedy-approved plot targeting Fidel Castro. Long story short, that's why Lee's legacy is a tangle of both pro-Castro and anti-Casto intrigues. This anti-Castro operation was exactly the kind of covert activity a well-placed Caribbean-oil spook like Bush would have been aware of to some extent, if not intimately. When FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover determined Lee Harvey Oswald had shot and killed President Kennedy, Hoover and everybody else with knowledge of Lee's CIA activities assumed the murder was CIA blowback, that Lee had double-crossed the CIA. That was an obvious conclusion to reach. And since the FBI already got their man (with a little help from Jack Ruby), what would be the point of telling the American people that the government was arguably partially responsible for killing their President? To do so may have spelled the end for the intelligence community, if not the nation itself. Moreover, what would be the point of revealing some of our country's most sensitive national security secrets, from assassination plots against foreign leaders, to counterintelligence activities in the Soviet Union, as long as they got their guy? This is why it seems like hundreds of government officials were and are covering up the truth. They were! They are! One problem: Lee did not shoot JFK! But that's another story. Let's get back to Poppy Bush. When Bush heard about the JFK assassination, he called the FBI to tell them exactly where and when he could deliver and or receive an oral briefing on the matter. To make sure the FBI took his call seriously, he made up a story about one of his acquaintances talking about killing the President. It worked. The ploy got the FBI's attention, the FBI big-shots realized the caller was "George Bush of the Central Intelligence Agency," and George got/gave his secret FBI briefing the very next day at "the Sheraton-Dallas Hotel." Until the day he died, George HW. Bush -- just like Bobby Kennedy -- kept secret all of his knowledge of Lee Harvey Oswald, the Cuba plots, and the JFK assassination itself. Hi CF. When the Burglars (eg Cubans) were arrested at the Watergate, they were quickly linked to Al Haig and his lead role in the JFK assassination. Bob Woodward's job was to divert our attention from national security issues (and the JFK assassination) and towards benign election issues. In order to keep investigators off Haig, one of the things Woodward did was to invent the Deep Throat character using Dick Cheney's realities (exclusively). Had Woodward been forced to testify under oath, Bob Woodward would have pointed to Dick Cheney as his source, thus steering investigators even further away from Haig. It's all about Haig and the JFK assassination.

Understanding the Deep State in one sentence: When Watergate exposed Al Haig's lead role in the JFK assassination, Bob Woodward invented Deep Throat to lead investigators away from Haig and towards a smoking, drinking White House aide named Dick Cheney.

Hi MW. It's very important to understand there was no Deep Throat, no informant. Deep Throat is a fictional character based entirely on Dick Cheney's realities. Bob Woodward's Washington Post lawyer was Joe Califano, who was Haig's co-JFK assassin. Bob didn't even have to leave the building to get his so-called information.

@TeganMathis John Coleman, author of “The Committee of 300”, also asserts that Haig was the main informant (although he says “Deep Throat” was a handful of people, Haig was foremost).

It's hard to nail down, partially because the Deep State obviously uses some of the same secrecy methods as the CIA. Also, there's clearly a gray area, as was the case with Admiral Thomas Moorer, who worked for Alexander Haig during the Richard Nixon administration, but wasn't informed of Israel's role in the Deep State until Richard Perle got caught spying. Haig informed Moorer that Perle was spying for Israel with Haig's permission.

@TeganMathis I think most of the CIA folks in DC think the same. So they do get positions in the govt- all branches as seen w Haig- so what is the cross-over rate? Only at the top? The underlings are just partisan, useful idiot until they’re no longer useful?

During the Richard Nixon administration, Richard Perle was caught red-handed supplying classified NSC information to the Israeli Embassy. @michael_wharton Thank you. It seems the prevailing/mainstream versions of reality are powerful, even among people who readily dismiss the mainstream. We just accept things.

@TeganMathis I figured I was wrong about the clues? That was pre-covid though. Before covid it would never have cohered for me that Woodward was a plant. After? I see it as (more of) a closed system. Even the "secure" lines are tapped, sort of thing.

I used to think Bob Woodward was a hero of journalism.

@GeorgeProust l'm looking for ways of communicating with people. It's difficult, but with Epstein and all, it feels like some people are awakening, even when they're wrong.
