@0hour1 Outside of the big, gay cities Canada is still based. I am very pro-America and people like myself are the ones who actually know how to survive in this climate.

The country said “NO!” Wtf are you doing @MarkJCarney and @gary_srp? Threatening people into compliance? That’s not your job. Your job is to listen, and back the fuck off! Not impose your will on a population that doesn’t agree. You work for us. We own you. Yes you read that correctly. WE OWN YOU. you’re public servants. Get it? Got it? Good! Now fuck off.

🚨 WOW David Eby got caught. Red handed. He told Canadians there was "no proponent, no route, no project" to oppose. Meanwhile a leaked internal briefing note shows his government ordered ministers to secretly build the case to kill Alberta's Northern pipeline. A majority of Canadians support it. A majority of BC residents support it. Indigenous communities were offered 50% ownership. Eby is sabotaging a nation-building project behind closed doors while lying about it in public. This is who runs BC. westernstandard.news/bc/exclusive-b…

I just got off the phone with someone who works in defense policy in Washington. What they told me should end every "Trump is reckless" argument permanently. "Every single president since Clinton received the same intelligence briefing on Iran's nuclear timeline. Every single one was told the window was closing. Every single one chose to kick it down the road because the political cost of acting was higher than the political cost of waiting." Trump got the same briefing. 60kg of 90% enriched uranium. 4 weeks to breakout. Material for 2 bombs. He chose to act knowing it would tank his approval to 35%. He chose to act knowing his own base would split. He chose to act knowing NATO allies would refuse to help. He chose to act knowing gas prices would spike. A senior analyst I know at a major think tank put it this way: "The difference between Trump and every president before him isn't intelligence. They all had the same data. The difference is courage." Read that again. Every president had the same file on their desk. Only one opened it and did something. I'll keep you updated. Turn on notifications. 🚨

There’s a lot of chatter about debate participation. A few things: 1. I’m excited to take part in any & all debates sanctioned by the Conservative Party of BC including the two that are currently scheduled for the end of April. 2. The Juno debate is unsanctioned. Its timing before the membership cut-off date is taking time away from growing the party through membership sign-ups. And it involves candidate(s) who may not even be on the final ballot (major payments are due after the debate date). 3. When we originally agreed to participate, it was due to a misleading communication by a Juno representative (sent on March 12) that *all* other candidates had been confirmed to participate. To be clear: a message was sent to me, directly, saying that “everyone else is confirmed.” This was untrue. 4. When it emerged that one main candidate had, in fact, *not* agreed to participate, we encouraged Juno to move the debate until after the membership cut-off so as not to be at a disadvantage (taking time to prepare for the debate while a competitor was signing up members). 5. The same Juno representative told us they would consider this. When they came back and said they wouldn’t reschedule, we declined to participate for all of the above reasons - but reiterated that I am (and remain!) happy to participate at a later date. For now, I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been doing. Meeting British Columbians all over this province. Hearing their concerns & taking their questions. Getting them excited about change & signing them up. Raising funds. Participating in the two scheduled, sanctioned debates. And - most of all - building a party and a movement that will defeat the NDP.

I had a convo today (with a municipal councillor, no less) where BC’s 5th consecutive credit downgrade was brushed off as a nothing burger, just the opinion of financial firms. That misses the point, because this isn’t about who’s saying it. It’s about what it means. But it did get me thinking that we need to be clear about the actual impact for real people. In simple terms: lenders see our province as higher risk, so we pay more interest to borrow. And when interest costs go up, more of your tax dollars go to servicing debt… and less goes to the things people actually rely on: healthcare, schools, infrastructure, childcare, public safety, etc Every dollar spent on interest is a dollar not spent on you. That’s not politics…that’s called math. And my point to my colleague was simple: if you care about strong public services, and especially if you want to see more of them as I do, this should matter to you most.

Just a reminder to all Canadian people with an RPAL. There’s no specific Criminal Code section saying you must answer the door for the RCMP. Without a warrant, they can’t enter, so you have the right to stay quiet, keep the door shut, and request they leave if no warrant is provided.

@CapeBHighlander @ClydeDoSomethin Yes, there are many European cultures that have pre-literate oral histories as well. They are definitely worthy of study, just not to be interpreted as factually accurate.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but.. I'm willing to bet that a majority of the "history" of the native people in Canada, orally passed down to them, is actually just made up BS I have a feeling this is a common thought, but most people don't have the balls to just say it.

I used to love Joni. But then she became a poison pusher during covid and now she praises PM Carnage as she blithely enjoys America's freedom and prosperity. Hasn't been back to Canada in "many, many years". She's got no skin in the game. What a complete bootlicking phoney.

JUST IN: PM Mark Carney presents Joni Mitchell with her lifetime achievement award at the Junos. She praises him in her speech: "This man is a blessing, you guys are so fortunate." "I'm living in the States and you know what's happening there."
