@star_excelsior The water around the ship is completely still. The ship is moving at the same speed as the water around it. I don't know if you've ever been on the water or to a beach, but the wind is almost never calm.

@TheIntelFrogbu Either the wind is really high there or the ships are moving. The wakes aren’t that big but the direction the smoke is moving doesn’t lie.

@maxxxmoin Yeah, not sure at all aside from the fact that neither vessel was moving at the time they were struck. The SEA STAR III had no signs of life before or after the strike.

@justaguyactual1 Ensuring your paperwork is completed properly and accurately really speeds things up. Smaller jurisdictions tend to get things a little quicker because they don't have the expenses that a larger one does.

@TheIntelFrogbu Yeah I’ve heard different experiences, ours was pretty smooth and received our reimbursements pretty quick even through the shutdowns. I know a few counties over they are still trying to get reimbursements from the same event we had.

Ok... This is going to take some digesting. There are some VERY good ideas that have been necessary for a long time coming, but they're also recommending fundamental changes that will reduce both the number of folks eligible and the amount of federal assistance. Poll 👇👇👇

The FEMA Review Council has released its final report. It recommends reforming and bolstering the agency in a transformation. Several recommendations will require congressional action. I'll break it down more in depth tomorrow.

@justaguyactual1 They are proposing speeding up the PA process, which would be welcome. I know some jurisdictions are 5+ years post event and are just beginning to receive FEMA reimbursements.

@TheIntelFrogbu Very true….from my personal experience I’ve only been involved with 3 federally declared disaster. There wasn’t a total loss in any 3 of those disasters, so my actual experience on that is based of those. 2 of those were Public assistance for damaged county roads not individuals

@justaguyactual1 As it stands, survivors can receive up to $44,800 for housing and $44,800 for other needs assistance, which will not buy you a new home, but is infinitely better than what's being proposed.

@TheIntelFrogbu Assist with the loses. They will sometimes cover your deductible, or make up the difference if you are underinsured. That’s where the SBA comes in they can help if you’re denied by FEMA with a low interest loan. SBA also has a mitigation loan which is actually king of nice!

@justaguyactual1 I did some napkin math and the assessed value of my home is a little less than 1/3 of the market value, so based on that, a payout from FEMA wouldn't cover 10% of my loss.

For those keeping a scorecard on Iranian tankers hit: 1⃣Hasna 2⃣Sea Star III 3⃣Sevda The ships were all in light condition, inbound to Iran. The video of the two latter ships show them to be moving fairly slow, as there is no appreciable wake or prop wash. Hasna was strafed with 20mm cannon. The video released by @CENTCOM shows Sea Star III hit at the base of the stack on the port side. The weapon penetrated into the superstructure and then a fire broke out. Sevda appears to be hit between the house and stack. Damage is split between the accommodation area of the house and the machinery/stack area.

@SmittysRants Some of it, like streamlining the funding streams, is great. Reducing IA to one lump sum based on the assessed valuation of your home and only allowing those whose homes have been destroyed to be eligible are going to be pain points I think.

@TheIntelFrogbu Hey Intelfrog, do you any comprehensive report of asset movements during the ceasefire like you and others did just before the epic fury and movement of special ops few weeks ago? I feel like we (or I) are somehow blind of things being moved.

Notice that there is no visible wake from either ship prior to being struck, indicating they were stationary at the time. There doesn't appear to be any movement on the SEA STAR III before or after the strike. On the Sevda, it appears that just prior to the strike, at least 2 personnel were moving on the deck towards the bow. Post strike, they appear to hasten their movement in that same direction.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that earlier today U.S. forces disabled two vessels, the M/T Sea Star III and M/T Sevda, earlier today in the Gulf of Oman in support of the naval blockade of Iran.

@airsuperiorx Because it's happening whether you like it or not, just like the life extension of the best CAS aircraft ever developed in the A-10. Get used to it.
