unpopular opinion: 16GB is plenty if software engineers actually cared about memory efficiency. chrome eating 4GB for 12 tabs is not a hardware problem its a software disgrace. docker consuming 2GB idle is not a feature its laziness. we live in an era where people optimize every single token to save $0.001 on API costs but happily ship electron apps that eat 500MB to display a todo list. if the industry treated RAM the way we treat inference compute - obsessively measuring every byte - 16GB would feel luxurious. the hardware isnt the problem, the software is @adxtyahq

How much does it pay? Genuinely asking. My experience from the US (where I grew up) is people pound the table about skills shortages and when you ask what they’re paying, it’s equivalent to working at Walmart in a no-skill job.

@kerckhove_ts Ouch! Definitely don't do this. Develop Specs! Its pretty great because then you know where interfacing subsystems will become a pain and you can adjust before committing to something that's wrong.

I keep hearing that developers write code too early in the whole "getting things done" process but my experience says the exact opposite. The only real way I've found to figure out requirements IS to start writing code and see what I bump into.

They documented the physical world at a scale no mapping company with a fleet of vehicles could have replicated on the same timeline or budget.
